Suspect your toddler might be a whizz in the kitchen? Then ask them to help you out next time you're cooking - simple as pie!
Makes 4 servings
200g fresh peas, shelled weight 50 ml olive oil, plus extra oil for drizzling 1 garlic clove, crushed 480g dried tagliatelle pasta 2 slices Parma ham, cut into small pieces black pepper, freshly ground handful mint, freshly chopped handful freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Bring a medium pan of water to the boil. Add the peas and cook for 2-3 minutes. Drain and plunge into cold water. Set aside. Heat the olive oil in a pan over a low heat and add the garlic. Cook for 1 minute, then add the drained peas and cook for a further 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside. Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the tagliatelle until it's firm to bite. Drain and add the pasta to the pea mixture. Toss together with the ham, then season with pepper and add the mint and a drizzle of olive oil. Sprinkle on the parmesan and serve.
