For use from birth you need a carrycot, and the Scout is comfortable enough for your baby to sleep in at any time. It is both stable and exceptionally flexible, with a central hinge that allows it to be folded up small and compact (74x61x39cm) so it really can be taken anywhere.
What we love
Overall, a huge amount of attention to detail has gone into the design and the result is a great-looking buggy that’s easy to use and built to last. This system has a luxurious, high quality feel, and it’s a pleasure to push. It’s also easy to fold, the padded handles are adjustable (but are flat rather than round, so could be more comfortable) and the brakes are a shoe-lover’s dream – step on red to stop and green to go.
Adding the individual components for the travel system couldn’t be simpler, as it’s all designed to be done one-handed and without disturbing your sleeping baby, and they can face front or rear. Detaching the components is probably the easiest I have found on any pushchair. The chassis folds and unfolds simply, and locks in place for ease of carrying, but it can’t be folded with the seat in situ, which would be a pain on public transport.
The choice of colours is great. The car seat is highly regarded, so is more than just the seat that fits the pushchair, while the carrycot folds up small to fit in the boot with the buggy when travelling. A thoroughly modern buggy.
What to watch out for
The full travel system doesn’t come cheap, although its quality means it will last more than one child. It’s not the most compact when folded – and you have to remove the seat unit to do so – and because of the need for a separate carrycot, you will find yourself with lots of components to find storage space for. Also, if you want to use a buggy to tote heavy shopping, this may not be the best option as the basket underneath is small and it’s tricky to hang bags from.

A high-quality, well thought out and truly innovative pushchair that can easily become a travel system. It’s made with great attention to detail, and is good looking, too. All this comes at a price though.
