Are antibiotics safe during pregnancy?
By Babyexpert.com on 05/06/2007 16:40:00
Q I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have been given an antibiotic called cefalexin by my doctor to treat what she thinks is a urine infection. IS it safe to take and will having a urine infection harm my baby?

which, in addition to making you feel very ill, can cause premature labour. Provided UTIs are treated roperly, youand your baby are unlikely to come to any harm. The antibiotic you have been given, cefalexin, is commonly used and is thought to be safe
