It’s week 9 of your pregnancy and your body shape is changing subtly as your baby increases in size.
Your baby
He’s the size of a grape – about 2cm long. Sex organs are forming and his eyelids are growing. His heart beats twice as fast as yours – about 180 times a minute. Check out our amazing guide to your growing baby.
You
You may get clumsier as your centre of gravity is starting to change – time to avoid handling heirloom crockery and steer clear of china shops! Your pregnancy hormones may be making you irritable and weepy. Here’s how to beat pregnancy mood swings.
Talk to your partner about your mood swings. Visit our relationships section for advice.
Keep your fluid intake up with water, juices and herb teas – make sure you’re not drinking too much caffeine, 200mg per day is the recommended amount. Fresh fruit and vegetables will also help top up your fluid levels, helping prevent constipation and with the added bonus of health-boosting vitamins, minerals and fibre.
Help! I can’t stop eating!
