How to keep your body fit during pregnancy

You’re 24 weeks pregnant!

Make sure you're getting regular but gentle exercise - it will keep you fit and limber you up for the delivery.

She weighs about 1lb and measures about 29cm. Her lungs are immature but she practices breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid. She may survive if born now, although she'd need intensive care and help with breathing.

:: Premature and special care babies.

You
You may have the odd dizzy spell and feel faint. Your hair and nails are growing well. Your skin may be very sensitive, so avoid hair removal creams and bleach. If you notice any sudden swelling or feel unwell, see your GP as it could be a sign of pre-eclampsia, a rare but serious pregnancy complication.

Give your employer the Mat B1 (MB1 in Northern Ireland) form. This is a certificate you get from your doctor or midwife. It gives your Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD) and is used to calculate Statutory Maternity Pay. Find out more here.
