It’s week 11 of your pregnancy and look what’s going on with you and your baby this week.

Your baby
He’s still a foetus, but now he actually looks like a baby, with a big head that he can hold up and away from his chest. He is covered with downy lanugo, has 32 tooth buds and his sucking reflex works. He measures about 5cm in length. More about your growing baby in pictures.

Good news: your feelings of sickness should have eased. Bed news: you could still be moody! By now, you are far less likely to miscarry and your baby is less susceptible to the effects of drugs and chemicals. Make sure you continue to steer clear of alcohol as much as possible, and watch out for foods that could damage your pregnancy.

You’ll be invited for your first antenatal scan around this time. Seeing your baby on the screen is an exciting and emotional moment – make sure you’ve got your partner with you if possible.
