Q Is barbecued food safe to eat?

A Raw meat may contain bugs that cause food poisoning, so make sure you cook meat until it’s piping hot all the way through. Don’t assume that if it’s charred on the outside, it’ll be cooked properly on the inside. Always practise good hygiene, using separate chopping boards and utensils for raw and cooked meat. Finally, be wary of dishes that have been left sitting outside for too long, as they could lead to food poisoning.

Q I have a long commute to work on a crowded train. How can I make it more bearable?

A ‘Wear loose, comfortable clothes and flat shoes,’ advises midwife Suzanne Moody. ‘And carry a bottle of water, some snacks and a mini fan in your bag.’
