Where are we all and where have half of us gone!!

Posted: 15/05/2011 at 15:52
Hi ladies!!!!!

Oh my, it's been a good few months since I've been on here! Hope you and your gorgeous buba's are all doing ok???

I'm back at work (went back end of March) and working 3 days a week but just dont seem to have a minute to myself - always something to do!! Initially found it hard leaving DS but now it's just the routine. DS loves his childminder and is just blossoming more and more each day! Hes just had chickenpox but sailed through it. Today he's started saying da da da da - shame it's not mama!!

Anyhooooo lovely to see so many familiar names still and I'll try harder to pop on a bit more!! xxxxxxxx

Break-the-bank Prams.. showboating or necessity?

Posted: 04/03/2011 at 08:47
I think it's just a fact of life really... There will always be people who buy expensive things for the sake of having "the best" and to keep up with the Jones' whether it be prams, cars, clothes, mobile phones...!

I do have friends who fall into this category and must admit in the past I've probably been rather materialistic in my approach to life... I'd have though nothing of spending ??80 on a t-shirt (now hanging my head in shame!) but I was young, earning good money and no responsibility!

However since having my DS I want the best for him, and ive learnt that certainly doesn't mean the most expensive! I used to have a new Mini which had to go when I had him (poss the most unfriendly child car in the world!!) and purchased a Clio - I did have friends ask me if money was tight coz I'd gone "down in status" lol!!!! Fact is, when I go back to work I will drive less than 2 miles a day - what is the point in having a flashy car for that?! So long as it's safe and reliable what more could I need?

Some people probably do buy the most expensive pram as they think it's the best and due to fear of being judged by others... But then so is life and I don't think that'll ever change!! x

Hi ladies,

I'd be interested to know what nappy brands you've found really good? My DS is 20 weeks and weighs 15lb 20oz, he's been a pampers baby in their new baby range from day one and theyve been fab. However I purchased some of the pampers baby dry nappies and they're useless!! DS used to sleep 11-12 hrs and now hes waking up wet! They just don't seem to absorb his wee as well as the pampers new baby nappies?! Anyone else found this?!

Has anyone used tesco own brand? I've heard they are pretty good?

Thanks in advance of your recommendations!! xx

Hi ladies,

Just a quickie q - what nappies you all using now? DS is 20 weeks and now weighs 15lb 12oz and he has always been a pampers baby and I've used their new baby range. However now hes growing out of them I got some pampers baby dry nappies and theyre useless!!! He used to sleep 11-12 hrs but now is waking up as he's wet! They just don't seem to absorb his wee like the new baby ones did?!

Any recommendations of nappies would be very welcome! I've heard (and read excellent reviews) on Tesco own brand nappies - anyone tried them?

Thanks in advance ladies xx

Freelancers are nice! Other 4x4's I like are the Toyota Rav and the Ford one, not sure what it's called though!!

What's your price range? A 4x4 is always good but can be expensive to run! If I could afford one, I'd get a BMW X5!!!! (c'mon lottery win or long lost rich dead uncle!!!)

What about a Golf? Or my hubby has an Audi A3 and that fits us all in comfortably!

Snoring baby???

Posted: 17/02/2011 at 05:30
Hi ladies,

Just wondered how many of you have babies that snore?! My DS is 18 weeks and he snores like an old man!!!! He always has snored and I've always thought it was quite cute but during a conversation yesterday with a fellow mummy friend she said it's not normal and I should take him to the doctor?! Do you think it is something to be concerned about?! xx

BF, LO Weight Loss, Teething, Stranger Fear, Misc. Question

Posted: 12/02/2011 at 04:16
Hi Eliza,

Can't help with the bf question as I ff my DS although I did read somewhere that weight gain isn't so rapid from about 16 weeks - not sure if that's true?!

He is also teething sooooo bad poor little boy!!! His hands are constantly in his mouth and he is a lot more grizzly and like your LO, is not as happy with having cuddles from strangers (saw my work colleagues on Thursday and normally he's fine to be passed around and have cuddles but this week the bottom lip came out and full on crying with real tears every time he realised it wasn't me holding him - kinda cute really, melted my heart that he just wanted me!)

He's also pulling at his ears a lot, dribbling constantly.... I've got some teether granules as well as bonjela and ambesol. Yesterday hubby purchased a Sophie the Girraffe and some gum shield type dummies (dances like a muppet posted about them a few days ago) but to be honest, the only thing that seems to help is calpol!

Try not to worry about the clingy-ness as I think it's all part of teething. Can't wait for these damn teeth to just come through and for DS not to be in pain anymore!!! xx

Daytime nap issue!!

Posted: 11/02/2011 at 12:40
My DS is now 17 weeks and I'm sooooo lucky as he sleeps really well at night but daytime he's turning into quite a nightmare! He has put himself into a routine of needing a good sleep (2hrs) from 9-11am ish, then again 13.30-3ish and a quick 40min nap about 5ish before bed at 7.30. My problem is he will only sleep during the day if he's in his pram!

I've tried desperately to put him in his cotbed but he has none of it and just screams and screams and gets so worked up! I normally give in after about 45mins as I just can't take his screaming and put him in his pram and little monkey goes straight to sleep!

Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can get him sleeping in his cot during the day? Ive tried putting him in his sleeping bag and having him out of it, using his mobile, making his nursery dark, keeping it light.... I just don't know why during the night he's fine in his cotbed but during the day it's a different story! Help! xx

Ps back to work next month so really worried I need to crack this before he goes to nana's/ the childminder!
