When to start using a duvet / pillow

Posted: 01/12/2011 at 15:27
Hi all,

My DD is coming up to the 18 months mark and we are currently using gro-bags, as she is about to outgrow the ones she has now we are wondering whether to start going for a toddler duvet?

She also uses her teddies as a pillow and we have been told you can get small children ones.

She has a cot/bed, but I think like lots of toddlers will fidget and move up and down the cot, change direction and so on..

Wondering if any of you have any experiences you could share such as; was there any sleepless nights, did they get used to it or was it harder to transition if you continued to use gro bags up to the age of 36 months etc...

Thanks

When to start brushing teeth?

Hi all,

My DD got her bottom teeth through this week, they have only just broken through, but I don't know when I should start brushing her teeth and what I should do, i.e. Do I use a toothbrush now and if using toothpaste how do I stop her from swallowing it?

Can any one advise what to do / or what you did?

Thanks

Acupuncture to regulate periods

Posted: 09/02/2011 at 08:28
Hi,

After ttc for 18 months and with PCOS, and having cycles ranging from 33 - 60 odd days, I was at the point of "I would try anything", so I went along for acupuncture - First month I went once a week and I had a 28 days cycle!!.. should also point out I was also prescribed clomid at the time of starting acupuncture by the Specialist.

At first I was wondering if I should try acupuncture without the clomid but I was impatient. Roll on three months later I fell pregnant.

I myself believe it was the acupuncture that got me in the right frame of mind and got my body ready, it was not only the treatment we also looked at my diet which was poor, and I was a veggie but I started eating fish.

As I am sure you are aware its not the cheapest so for months 2 and 3 I went once a fortnight.

Good luck

Can anyone recommend a light/ projector to help with sleep?

Completely agree with post above for the the Tomy Dreamshow - it has worked a treat since it was received as a Christmas present for my now 6 month old.

Teething - Any advice??

Posted: 12/12/2010 at 15:36
Hi all,

My DD is coming up 19 weeks, so I guess teething is not to far away. For some reason I have this feeling its going to start over Xmas and would like to be prepared.

Was just wondering if anyone had any advice / tips / what to buy or what to avoid.

When I went into Boots the other day there is so much you can get, and there is so much advice when you read up on the subject - I don't know where to start....

Thanks

Anyone using Colief and FF (also posted in Baby)

Is anyone using Colief and FF? We have been advised to use Colief by our HV as my DD (6 weeks) is really suffering in passing wind and its suggested it might be a lactose problem.

Reading the instructions for Colief it needs to be kept in the fridge - We had planned a day out on Saturday which will span across a couple of feeds so I was wondering if anyone can advise what they do to overcome this? i,e Did you just take the Colief with you or do we need to postpone the day out???

Thanks

Experience with mamas and papas furniture

Hi - We bought the Fern Collection from M&Ps and are really pleased with it, must admit I was concerned as this set comes in so many boxes, but we are really pleased with the quality and there was no missing parts.

The only thing I would say is that we assembled the wardrobe and changer early as it had a strong "new furniture smell" to it which took a few weeks to disappear.
