Hiya,

I think I found you?! Was your surname Cartwright before you were married? I've sent you a friend request. I hope this works! x

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't find anybody! I don't know why?! I even just tried to search you Emily but only 3 came up and none of them had a pic of a girl hugging a tree I think I am destined not to be able to join group. Any ideas? x

Birth story :-)

Ahhh, congratulations Ruth! That was all quite quick, but apart from the tear seems like it all went well. So glad you have your little one home safe and sound and that he is feeding well. Did you think he was going to come early? It's all very exciting! xxx

2/5 Engaged!!

Posted: 21/02/2012 at 05:01
That does make sense. Baby's bum is still right up in my ribs which makes me think that she must be a long little girl as she's engaged as well! I have been having monthly growth scans due to my other conditions, the last one was at 31 + 3 & she was weighing 5lb 2oz at that point with all of the 4 measurements on the top line, 1 just over! I have my next 1 this Friday then in to see the consultant so shall see what they think. Didn't know it could be much as a pound a week though! I am having a giant! Elk! X

This post made me smile! I will test out the theory tomorrow as my friend from work is coming over with her 9week old son. I haven't had any leaking yet that I have noticed so hope it all works! Xx

2/5 Engaged!!

That is good! Hope baby stays enaged and it is a lot of water. Make sure you have some old towels ready for when they go!

I have to have fhr monitored weekly and at my last appointment at 34 + 2 midwife said baby was 3/5's engaged. Also measured on top curve and has been measuring 2 weeks ahead since 31 weeks! As its our first baby does anyone know if this is likely to mean early labour? Have felt sick for the last 3 days & have had some crampy feelings low down. Nervous but excited too! Xxx

Baby Clothes

Hi Ladies,

Well I have now washed all of of the baby's clothes and the sheets/blankets etc. Just been going through everything as we were given a lot of clothes from a friend who's daughter only wore them once or twice, some not at all, and are of varying sizes from newborn through to 6-9months. I've decided to put everything bigger than 0-3 away in boxes under the cotbed, but now I'm looking at what we have I don't know that we have enough!

How many vests/sleepsuits do you have in newborn and 0-3? I've packed 6 vests and 6 sleepsuits plus an additional one to use for that first one as midwife said that will need changing after a few hours and I'm looking at being in for 2-3 days. This only leaves me with 3 more sleepsuits, 4 long sleeved vests and 2 short sleeved ones at home with just a few little outfits. Do I need more stuff?!

Looking forward to hearing your opinions ladies! x

How long will baby sleep in your room?

Posted: 15/02/2012 at 10:16
We are thinking between 3 and 4 months really although the crib we have for our room can be used until up to 6 months depending on when she starts pulling herself up. Although saying all that, I have a friend who decided to put her little girl in her own cot from their second night home as the room was so close to theirs and they had the video/movement/sound monitor and she has found it worked for them.

Ultimately I think it's each to their own, but agree that reading everyone's experience/ideas does help me to think what we might try.

Hope everyone is ok xx

Going on sick

They can't put you on mat pay until you are 36 weeks hun. Believe me, I had a nightmare with my work and spent a lot of time looking into it. Check on direct gov and I'll see if I can find the link for you. In the short term though you need to just call and explain that you are too unwell to work and that you've been to the docs who has said you must rest. Then if they want you to call each day so be it, then go back to the docs for day 8 to get a certificate and send it to work. Hope you feel better with some rest, we haven't got long to go now. xxx
