KWA - Part 18 BFP for 2012 please

Posted: 01/02/2012 at 15:25
angie I think it's probably harder to do anything when you're suffering with sickness. At least with a baby I get some respite when she sleeps! Lectures start again tomorrow and it'll be the longest my husband has had to look after her on her own before so we'll see how it works out. I've got a freezer stock of expressed milk for him to use though so hopefully it'll be ok. I love that you have a bump already!

kels :O cd25!! Do you think it'll settle down and you'll have your old cycles back eventually?? Now it's Feb you're so close to the ttc wagon! So crazy you're back on it already, just doesn't seem like that long ago you were doing it first time around.

Chic I bet the drinking will help - everything does. My oh stopped having baths and stopped drinking as much and upped his vitamins. Even if you find it difficult it's good you're going out, it's not surprising it can be hard to be happy all the time considering everything that's happened.

MrsM did af show??

OUCH mrs86 even knocking your elbow hurts, I'm not surprised you're in agony

just watching some wildlife programme and a tiger just ate bambi! The cheek!

OBEM tonight ladies.. I watch it more now than when I was ttc!

KWA - Part 18 BFP for 2012 please

Hi girls Hope you're all well. I've just emerged from a couple of weeks of hardcore essay writing - funnily enough it took a lot longer to do with a baby to look after, especially as she'd just hit the stage where she needs entertaining! I'm going to jump back in this thread (and yes Kels I'm broody for another! We'll ttc from August all being well) Had some really sad news this evening that my sister's best friend passed away but will get stuck in on a better day xx

Hello to everyoneeeeeeeee

Kels you got your years mixed up! Time's going so blinking quick!! Can't believe you're almost ttcing again, it just doesn't seem that long ago you got Ben's bfp.

Congrats to you angie, it's great news [I'm a bit behind the curve hah!).

Exciting about CW and Lib being nearly there, very very nearly there!

Ada's only 7 weeks now but I was in a cafe earlier and there were two very new babies there, maybe 10 days or so, and I can't believe how different they are! As Ada can now do things like actually interact and smile, and doesn't sleep half a much, it's crazy how much they change so quickly. She's also a fatty and nearly out of most of her 0-3 month clothes

MrsM the casual attitude never lasted long for me either! I found a happy medium in the end though. Decided to concentrate on the three days around ov and just go for it and we got Ada out of it My hubby got frustrated too, and did lots of research - he ended up giving up baths and all sorts. Not sure if it made any difference but it's nice when they make it apparent that they care as much as we do about the whole thing. Things are going really well thank you, she's a little star. She feeds pretty much all the time but she's very good and we've been able to get out and about and do loads with her. We're very lucky! The days really do disappear as by the time I've got her changed, fed, happy and ready to leave the house two hours have passed!

undecided we found that for the first few months of ttc we always ended up arguing on ov day and not bding! It was always about stupid things too! It's the stress of planning it all I guess.

jessie I had my implant out and the coil put in and was on normal cycles pretty much straight away so hopefully you'll slot right into something regular. I was very surprised as I'd had one hormonal contraceptive after another for years.

Chic that's so great about the nice doctor and the fact that everything looks good! I hope your dye test goes well and 2012 proves fruitful. Sounds like bad luck you've not fallen so far. It'll be so wonderful when you do.

Looby those 4 weeks left of work will fly by I bet! Mine seemed to drag but I had an extra two weeks working from home that I wasn't expecting. You're creeping so close now! Exciting times.

Congrats on the early Christmas present lisabby!

Kels I'm surprised you're not preg already tbh We've decided to actively ttc no2 from August so I've got a summer 'off' as it were. I'm going to use ov tests as contraception though, so could fall sooner. However, I'm exclusively breastfeeding so that gives me a little extra protection..

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to apologise for being spectacularly shite at keeping up and to say hi to everyone and welcome to the new ladies. Rubbish that there seems to be a dearth of bfps, 2012 is definitely due lots! Sorry to hear about you oh's test results chic, I've got everything crossed everything's good with you.

Now my uni presentation is out of the way I've been trying to do some Christmas shopping and finish making all the presents I had half started before birth! It's my birthday tomorrow so I'll do a better catch up after the weekend. xxxxx

oo and nice one rachey on being 23 weeks! A great landmark.

Breast or Bottle??

Posted: 05/12/2011 at 09:45
My baby is 2 weeks old and I'm bfing. We've had no problems touch wood, have been very lucky, but it's still hard work obviously. I keep thinking about how the bottle would be harder though! Having to get up and go downstairs and sterilise and all that. Just chucking her on the boob while we're out is a godsend too, we managed to breastfeed in a sling wandering around Tesco as she started kicking off when we walked in and we didn't want to abandon the shop.

I'd give it a go, and if it doesn't work out you can go to bottle. Don't be afraid of failing - for some people it just doesn't work out and it doesn't make you a bad person! If formula was horrendously bad for babies it wouldn't be allowed!

What I wish I'd known when I brought my daughter home was that the first two nights were going to be horrific. Colostrum wasn't enough for her as she was a fairly big baby (9lb) and so I got no sleep at all as she just screamed as soon as I wasn't feeding her. As soon as my milk came in over days 3/4 she was so much more satisfied though, and I'm sure I get more sleep being able to just roll over and latch her on (our cot attaches to our bed so it's like an extension).

Massive congrats flamingo! Such wonderful news, hope you have a great nine months.

So sorry about your great nan rachey. Glad your oh saw sense, though there's no way it should have taken so much to convince him! Matt's grandpa is still hanging in there but we're going to see him with Ada on Tues as it's hit his brain now, he's not responding to chemo and he doesn't have long. He thinks he's living in Venice in his dad's apartment on the Grand Canal though; nice place to be!

Also welcome to the new ladies, hope it's not too long before your bfps show. Sounds like there's been a run of crappy bfns so we're definitely due some new bfps.

I know what you mean about posting Flo, it's unbelievable how much time all the little things take up. I'm trying to work on my uni assignment too, and by the time the house is sorted and little miss is fed or changed and I've managed to venture out of the house I'm knackered and have to go to bed at 8pm! Also really need to finish making the Christmas pressies I started ages ago. Argh!

Experimenting with all our reusable nappies at the mo. Going well so far! sticking with disposables overnight and when we go out though for now.

Welcome back 3054! I really hope 2012 is your sticky year. It's be a brilliant NY gift if you got a bfp on NYE. I got a bfn on NYE last year so went out and got hammered!

Vickster you can but try. You never know if things will suddenly kick into action - it only takes one after all. I hope you get good news before your hols but even if not it'll be fab I'm sure.

wibble in the nicest way I do hope you're not still here on 24/07/13! Or if you are, it's with a little puking and pooing machine on your lap!

Welcome to shaz! 'Unexplained' is a bit shite, and 3 years?? That's madness! I do wonder what they're on about sometimes..

angie, good luck for the 6th.

Lib I can attest to the fact that heartburn goes IMMEDIATELY post-delivery. I was munching indigestion tablets all through labour until the midwife gave me a magic pill, then realised when eating after the delivery that it had gone completely. 8 months I've been riddled with heartburn, and I've only had it once since Ada was born.

So weird seeing Ada's birthday up there! Finally put her BS up - I created a livejournal just for the purpose, so you can read it at squeezedd.livejournal.com. It went from 0-60 very quick (sent home 'not in established labour', an hour later I'm 4-5cm dilated..) then I had 5 or 6 hours of bliss on an epidural before an unceremonious forceps delivery.

Bubbly poo seems to be the norm today, so off to give this little madam her first bath.

yes massive congrats to Clalee! There's a wee pic on her profile, he's adorable!

Well I've done my birth story, and it's, er, 3000 words long! I spared nothing, as I want to be able to remember it faithfully. I'm not sure I'll post it here as it'll take up masses of room, so I think I'll upload it somewhere tomorrow and post the link for those of you with enough stamina to get through it. Maybe I should release it in chapters haha!

Going to take the little chubster to bed now. Can't believe this time last week I was on my way to hospital as my waters had gone the hour before. Mental!

oo and I should remove my ticker! Blimey. Can't believe it's all over.
