Hi ladies,
Hope ur all well, and babies that are here now.
Sorry its taken so long to get this written. very detailed sorry.
Well after all the problems with iron levels and b12 levels and having absolutly no energy for weeks, i woke up on new yrs eve with a sudden burst of energy, so cleaned house fully (kitchen cupboards, etc,) was getting a few pains but nothing exciting put them down to bh, by late afternoon they were gone so off we went to my parents for new yrs celebrations, all night i couldnt sit still at all, very aggitated, had a glass of wine (not touched stuff all through pregnancy) then my nephew decided it wasnt a party with out music and dancing so up we all got jumping round and dancing(again not done this for weeks due to spd).
By 11pm my dd had fell asleep and i was feeling a bit yuck so we decided to go home and celebrate in our own special way, (haha im sure u all know what i mean) so we left about 11.20 and on leaving told my mum i was booking my dd in for the day with her new yrs day as i wanted my baby to have 1/1/11 for his bday.
(boy was i write lol)
So I woke up at 9am on the saturday with a light contraction that i thought nothing of at all. By 9.30 my contractions were coming every 3 minutes but only lasting 10seconds or so no where near long enough to be doing anything. i had an appointment for a b12 injection at the assesment unit at 12pm so told hubby i wld get midwife to check me whilst i was there, he wanted to come but told him no as they r only gonna send me home again, (erm i was wrong) cause how intense and fast contractions were happening plus my blood levels they d
idnt want me to go home so stay on assesment unit at this point i was 1-2cm dilated. so phoned hubby told him to come up, then phoned my mum and asked her to pick my daughter up. (mum thought i was kidding untill i had to hand midwife phone due to a contraction.)
Midwife explained she thinks its gonna be long day as contractions although coming every 1-2mins by now only lasting 8-10sec still, so not doing alot.
By 1.30 they were so close together that we decided it was time for gas and air but as was only 2cm at this point so had to stay on assesment unit to have it, at this point my hubby finally arrives at hospital im in agony with contraction but they still soooo short, but was only fitting 1 or 2 words in between them i told hubby epidural will be needed if labour is gonna be long.
Th next thing i know is i needed to push so called for midwife and was thinking i just needed to go toilet and open bowels, when midwife walks in she takes one look and tells me to do a small push, (WHAT ITS NOT TIME I SAY) only to be told babies head is actually there (again in total shock i say but my waters havent gone), just as i said it i got another contraction and done a small push which actually caused waters to brake and callum to arrive in the world less than a second later, my second stage labour lasted second and third was 2 minutes, cause everything happened so quick i didnt even feel the pain plus helps that he was born with his waters pretty much it was such a wet birth (although feel embarassed 1 push done head and shoulders does that mean im a bit large down there lol.) time of his birth was 13.58 by then my body went into total shock and was shaking uncontrollably due to delivery being so fast
My little man is now 11 days old and i feel like his always been here, my dd is brilliant with him she is only 18mnths and was concerned how she would be but she dotes on him.
He has lost 10% of his birth weight which they are a bit concerned about and just waiting for midwife to check his weight now, (may need to take him of breast and onto bottle as they think my iron and b12 levels are effecting the quality of my milk
