Poor egg quality?????

Posted: 07/02/2011 at 08:32
Moggs,

many thanks for your comments on my thread, they are very greatfully received and dont appologise for rambling. xx

I know what you mean by saying it sucks, my best friend had a baby back in 2007 not long after we started trying for a baby and since then due to me finding it hard to cope and her not being very supportive we are no longer in contact which is a shame. Also my neice asked me this weekend why me and her uincle had not given her a cousin yet and when we were, i felt like screaming at her that we were trying!!!.

I have a doctors appointment later this week for travel immunisations so will ask the nurse about DHEA then. I have googled it but would not be sure how much to take.

I did think about going the counceling route but not too sure if i can bring myself to do it at the moment. i am still trying to come to terms with the fact that it may never happen and it is my fault (ish).

if you want to rant again please feel free.
xx

Poor egg quality?????

Hi ya all,

My husband and I recently finished our first bout of icsi. I have had all the tests you can think of and obviously so has hubby, and as far as we were aware we were just having to over come the problem that he has a low sperm mobility count. however since having the icsi they have found out that I have for my age (30) rather poor quality eggs. Out of the 14 they retreived at egg collection time they said that there was a number that were still imature and not great quality. this obviously cam as a big shock to both us and the hospital seeing as they though i responding really well to the treatment.

the doc said that wecould possibly get another go at an nhs cycle again but will have to wait till april to find out and that they could change my drug to one called menapur instad of gonal f.

at this point in dont know if i want to go through all the pain that we have just before xmas

Does any one know if you can boost the quality of the eggs so there may be achangce of falling naturally? i am up for anything.

it seems at the moment every one is pregnant both in the news and freinds and i am currently finding it hard to cope. any advise????????

Happy new year to you all.

unfortunatly our attempt at ICSI in december did not work. I was suppose to test on 11th dec however af turned up on 8th Dec. She was exceptionally heavy that time, i must admit i didnt take it very well and was pretty down and ill all over xmas.

Waiting for af to turn up this month so far she is a week late and have got no symptoms that she will be coming, dont know whether just as my body had enough and taking time out.

we got out letter from the clini last week letting us know that our follow up appointment in at the end of the month.

jest feeling really down and negative about things at the moment and dont help that there are so many people pregnant and announcing their pregnant.

Hello all,

thaks for ther support. Egg collection was ok, not too painfull but the side effect of the pessery is far worse made my tummy swell up for 3 days with gas but thankfully now gone down and pretty much pack to norm.

The collected 14 folicles of which only tried it fertilise 10 and we got 6 the fertilised. They did the embreo transfer n Friday lunch time and put 2 back in but unfortunatly we did not have any decent enough for freezing.

feeling quite strange at moment dh walking on egg shells around me and i am afraid of sneezing just in case ( i know sounds stupid) it does summink to them. fingers, legs and everything else that the little beans put back in at least 1 will stick.

just 2ww wait now xx

Debbie C....

Oh yeh cant count this morning, that means got two extra between friday and monday goody goody.... I am trying to drink as much water as possible but seem to spend most of the day running to the loo!!!!

many thanks for the advice will stock up on paracetimal and get a hot water bottle today. Question though they told me i was not supposed to put anything hot on my tummy or lower back as it draws too much blood to the are and could damage the womb lining by caseing it to bleed?????

hi all,

I have got my egg collection tomrrow morning, had my last scan last night and had to take my ovritolle (spet wrong) injection last night. I am too tired to be worried about it today but i bet as the day goes on i will be more nervous.

I have been going accupunture for the last few weeks and dh has got to go tonight too so that should be fun. I have also been having reflexology every week for the past 3 months to try and give myself the best chance possible of this working.

at pressent i have 19 follicle 8 on the right and 13 on the left and my tummy is really swollen, got really upset last night when my brother pointed out i was gett fat stomach and puttting on weight wanted to slap him.... but not his fault as we have curretly not told anyone apart from my boss - due to all the time off.

any one got any advice?

first icsi cyle.. wish me luck

babydust 30,

I am going into have my egg collection tomorrow morning, so a bit furthr on than you. I was on a relativly low dose of gonal f until friday when they doubled it to get folicles to reac maturity and it was only then that i started to feel a bit sick. With regards to tiredness i have felt really bad the second week and seem to be finding it hard to concentrate on anything as am soo sooo tired. I will let you know about egg collection.

Hi,

Not dont know if I ovulated before starting my injections. The hopsital said that i could still have my baseline scan next week, even if a week later than expected.

Many thanks for your reply
