Good luck from a June 2010 mummy :)

Hi ladies, bumps and babies

I'd just like to wish you all the very best of luck this month, with meeting your LO's.

I'm a June 2010 mummy, and fondly look back to this time last year, when I was almost 37 weeks pregnant, and eagerly reading the BA's from my fellow mummies.
My DS, Samuel, was due on 30th June, but was 5 days late and didn't make his appearance until 5th July - he'll always be a Junie at heart though!

I can't believe that a year has flown by already and that my little man will be 1 in 4 weeks time. Enjoy every single second June 2011 mummies.

Lots of luck and love from Leanne & Samuel (11 months old!) xxx

Nosy question...did you have an elective after an emergency?

Posted: 15/02/2011 at 18:09
It's been good reading this thread, as I had an EMCS with DS in July. Reason for my EMCS was for a few reasons - failure to progress (I didn't get past 6cms - was 2cms at 7.30am, and only 6cms at 5pm), malposition (DS was back to back), and fetal distress (DS had the cord around his neck and his heart rate kept dropping - as well as mine).
I'm not yet pregnant again, but this has been on my mind. I would love to have a natural birth, but think I would opt for an ELCS. I am already petrified of scar rupture and am also so scared that the same would happen again, as it did with DS. Not sure what the 'policy' is in my area on this, but this has made interesting reading. Thank you xx

Being sick during/after c-sec - Were you?

Posted: 09/02/2011 at 15:26
I had an EMCS and was sick a little bit when I got into theatre. I'd been fine up until then, and I remember being given something in my hand, by the anesthatist (sp?) and then suddenly feeling sick, which he said I would. It was literally just a mouthful and probably wasn't helped by the fact that I hadn't eaten since the Sunday evening at 6pm and I was having my section at 7pm on the Monday!!!

Bleeding after c-section should I be worried?

Posted: 04/02/2011 at 04:42
Not sure if you have had a reply over in Baby, but I had similar. 7 days after my EMCS, I woke with crippling stomach pains (around my scar area), and started to bleed a lot more heavily than I was, and also passing a couple of small clots. I was taken back to the delivery unit, where I was checked over and was told I had an infection of the womb lining, which is apparently quite common with c-sections. This was causing the pain and extra bleeding.
They gave me antibiotics and sent me home, and I felt better within a few days.
Might be worth contacting your Dr if you are still experiencing this xx

Venturing in to this section - Hello

Posted: 04/02/2011 at 04:38
Hi

I also had an emergency c-section, due to fetal distress & failure to progress.
I have heard that recovery from planned sections are much quicker and easier than from an EMCS.
It took me about 7 weeks to feel 'normal' again, and I didn't risk driving until after 6 weeks.
I'm now 7 months post c-section, scar has healed really well, but I still get the odd niggling pain and numbness in the scar, which is all normal.
I found it painful to lift DS, for example if he was on the floor - I couldn't bend down to get him and was only able to pick him up comfortably from the level of the sofa. I was so grateful of the help I received from hubby and family.

Music was playing in the background while I was having my section (DS was born to one of our wedding songs!!), and I'm sure you can take a CD for them to play if you are having an elective.

I think I'll be going down the elective section route when we fall pregnant again.
Good luck xxx

Highchair recommendations....

Can anyone recommend a highchair to keep at my mum's house?
Don't want to spend too much on it, it needs to fold flat for storage and ideally needs a removable tray....and in a neutral colour...
Thanks. x

6 month old sleep routine

Posted: 25/01/2011 at 04:49
We had a much better night last night with him. He had calpol before bed, and he woke 3 times before midnight, just a little cry, but he was then fine all through the night and woke at 8.30
He seems brighter in himself today. Had 2 soft-ish nappies this morning though, so I'm guessing it could be teething xx

He's been very grumpy today, due to the lack of sleep!
He had an absolute crazy half an hour at 8pm - screaming, crying, going hot and red and nothing would console him, so hubby had to take him out in the car.
Gave him some calpol before bed and he's now asleep so hoping he stays that way til the morning!! xx

6 month old sleep routine

Posted: 24/01/2011 at 05:22
Hi,
My DS is 6 months old (will be 7 months on 5th Feb). He's always been brilliant sleeper and slept through from very early on (around 8 weeks). He had a bad couple of nights when we moved him into his big cot at the beginning of December, but since then he's been fine, and sleeping through no problem until 8 - 8.45am.
However the past couple of nights he has started waking again. The first night it was at 12.30 and he was wide awake in his cot & didn't drop back off unti l.45am. Last night he stirred at 12.15, then woke up at 1.45 and didn't settle until 3.15, then he woke again at 4.15, 4.30, 5 and 6.30am.... he then slept until 9.45...
Can anyone shed any light on the possible reason for this? He's on 3 meals a day, plus bottles. He has ben showing teething signs for weeks now, but nothing has come through....
xx
