Colic & colief how do i use for breastfeeding?

Posted: 30/04/2012 at 19:11

hello,

you can either express some off and make it up in that and then use a syringe to give it to her or you can make it up in some cooled boiled water.

I didnt use colief I used infacol. Another thing that might help is a dummy, i was really against them but the sucking motion helped my little boy to settle. i fed him until he was 13 months old.

 hope that helps.

no sleep!

Just ordered some nappies

Posted: 10/06/2011 at 13:13
Hey.

IMO bambino mio are not that good. the folding of the insert takes forever & they work out very expensive.

the best brand I have found are the totsbots easy fit & Bumgenius. they go from birth to potty and what you see is what you get. no folding, just stuffing.

when washing the tots bots you just have to stick the tabs down and put them in the wash, with Bum genius you stick the tabs down and pull the insert out.

you can wash them with your own non bio powder but not alot as a build up can cause leakage. Dont use fabric conditioner as this also affects the absorbency. I wash mine at 60degrees with a prewash & 2 tablespoons of tots bots potion instead of non bio powder. sun light is also a great stain remover.

any other questions just ask xx

hey,

I dont hang my BG outside that often I just hang them in the sunlight & that removes the stains. I also wash them with 2 tablespoons of tots bots potion. also do a prewash before.

Is there an alternative to breastpads?

Hey,

I use the Avent reusables that I got from mothercare. they have lace on the back which holds them in place. I like you had the same problem with disposable ones!

Over bump or under bump...that is the question!!? x

Posted: 07/05/2011 at 14:20
Hey,

I am G/C from BIJ2011 I saw this on the front page. I personally went for under the bump as your going to be pregnant mainly through the summer and you will melt wearing over the bump trousers.

With regards to shops, Next are great! I got a really good pair on linen under the bump trousers and wore them all through my pregnancy and the best bit they only cost ??20! If you go into your local Next and ask to see the catalogue and they will order things into store for you for free! New Look are also good, I got a pair on good jeans in there as well! The only thing that I did buy that was over the bump was leggings and I loved them! The other good bit of clothing I brought was a pair of over the bump jogging bottoms and I must confess that I still wear them now and my baby is 4 months old!! They where also great post birth as I ended up having a C-Section.

how long to feed on demand for?

Posted: 07/04/2011 at 08:48
hey,

my little man is now 11 weeks and I am still feeding on demand when he wants it like to day I think that he is on a growth spurt! He has put himself in a 3 hour routine which helps but I normally just feed him on demand.

in the first 6 weeks I just fed him on demand when he wanted it. he now weighs 15lb 14.5oz. he was born 8lb 9oz. at 2 weeks he was 9lb 10oz.

i have never read a book on how to feed my baby, i just go with the flow with what he wants

Sleep?? or lack of it!!

Posted: 11/03/2011 at 06:45
Hey,

We have had the same problem with Jude. He was fine in his moses basket until we went away. while we where away for a week he wouldnt sleep in his moses basket. some nights he would go down (after screaming the house down with stomach ache) then come into our bed when he woke for a feed.

when we got home we thought everything would go back to normal him in his moses basket but it has not! he has been in our bed ever since. I have put him in the middle of our bed on a fairly flat pillow so he is at the same level of us. he is also in his sleeping bag, we also lay him very high up on the pillow by our headboard. I spoke to the HV and she said what we are doing is good & as long as we are happy.

We plan to leave him in our bed until he is 6months and then put him in to his cot.

Love
