My birth Story- wonderful experience!

Posted: 09/09/2012 at 08:40
Hey I would like to announce the birth of my beautiful baby boy Theo Michael Robert! He can into the world at 1:01am via emergency c-section weighing 7lb 14 on the 3rd September (my dd was the 7th and section booked for 6th lol ) So my VERY POSITIVE SECTION EXPERIENCE! After having 2 prev shoulder dystocia births resulting in both admitted to scbu for a week we opted for a section this time round although I was so terrified! We were booked for the 6th to have it done but on Sunday at 9:30pm I had a huge pop and pain which felt like it was in my bottom lol when I got up to pee water went everywhere so naturally we got the mum in law round for the older two and set off to the hospital after calling them. I started getting mild contractions about 5 minutes apart, once in they stuck me on a monitor and that was it for a few hours in this time the monitor want picking up any contractions although I was getting them every 3 minutes and was quite painful once we told the mw a few times that I am def in labour ( bit of a computer says no moment there too) we got examined by a registrar and with another gush of water saw I was in fact 4-5 cm lol (funnil enough after 2 labours you know what a contraction is!) It was all go from here getting prepped for the procedure everyone was calm and relaxed I was shaking like a leaf! Having problems with an epidural in the past and them not being able to do it I was nervous for the spinal block... A very young anesthetist came in and I thought great he won't be experienced enough! (well never judge a book and all that) as he was fantastic did it all in a few minutes! So I went in at 12 to be prepped was ready to go at 12:58 at 1:01 Theo was born and we heard him cry ! We have never experienced a pink crying baby at birth! Amazing my husband was extactic! I said he could hold him first and then I got a cuddle the rest was quick just lookin g at my gorge boy whilst being stitched up took about 40 minutes In recovery I breastfed and had a drink couple hours later moved to my ward were the husband had to go left in a ward with my baby! Again a first! He slept for 5 hours then I thought best wke him for a feed and lots of skin on skin, Ever since then he feeds every 3-4 hours sleeps then Poops very content his brothers adore him even the youngest who is only 1 himself Well after such traumatic experiences I feel so happy to have gone for a section! Recovery has been fine too was up and about at 10 am that morning and although a little tired and sore it feels fine! A very happy mother of 3!

My Pregnancy

Hey mikayla!

Congrats on your pregnancy! Is it going ok so far?

I'm currently 24 on my 3rd child (this one is a surprise) I was 20 when I had my first it was scary/exciting time! I would say look into pain relief methods for labour but don't worry about the birth plan too much as I was quite dissapointed when mw pressed me to do one and it totally went out he window! Lol I didn't want any drugs and ended up having all of them! Lol so know what's available and take it from their!

Also breastfeeding again I was adamant I would bf but when it came down to it I couldn't lasted 2 weeks before I went insane and was told to stop! (he did feed every 20minutez) also with my second I tried and couldn't manage it the lathing just never seemed to happen! This time round imgonna try but have bought these new starter formula pack incase it doesn't work again!

Basically don't put too much pressure on yourself, there is alot out there to do the perfect mummy things but just do why your body tells you! Pack plants of snacks
Ooo I found cooling spray amazing as you do get hot! Ad I k ow it sounds funny but one my things was web my first was here he kept scratching himself and the mittens wouldn't stay in! Soo The baby grows with built in mittens were good but socks seemed to be the best thing (that is what a mw did or me and he was in the scbu) lol

Good luck in sure it will all be lovely! xxx

contraception after pregnancy- what's everyone thinking?

Posted: 28/08/2012 at 07:32
Think my husband is getting te snip, although we're young we do not want anymore children even this one was a surprise with condom splitting and then morning after pill failing! I have tried so many contraceptions and suffering with chronic migraines doesn't make the choices easy! So with that I think the snip is best!! Being super fertile is a real worry at this point so no sex it is intill snippy snip snip haha x

Hahaha like that costa decaf latte stuff very clever lol bloody hell on the 5th! 3 is our limit originally it was 2 but this one had different plans and was obviously meant to be! Cat wait to have my 3 boys and do normal mummy stuff without a waddle!! Lol right now I'm sitting here watching the baby's foot grossly stick out the side and his bum whilst listening to my other too making monster noises in their bedroom I think they think we can't hear them....

Not long now ladies as for my moody swings and feeling fed up its once a day! Haha my poor husband he is brilliant tho! X

I am grateful thank you, still doesn't mean I'm not fed up. Sometimes I need a time to rant as I don't at home. It's nice to know if anyone else is feeling the same. I wouldn't change any I it for the world but everyone's entitled to feel a bit down or fed up. Especially when in pain and have anxiety about the forthcoming birth after having such traumatic ones x
