Just a really quick note to let you all know that baby Joshua Anthony D was born 1 week late on 11th September at 7.08 am 7 lbs 14 oz. I'll fill in the rest of the details in a few days. Congrats to the other new mummies and good luck to those still waiting xx

Arrgh, starting to go insane

I feel your pain literally!
I am now 5 days overdue. Been having loads of cramps that don't go anywhere for about a week.
Then yesterday they gradually got much worse, and my lower back was aching too, I tried to think nothing of it and went to the shops. Then I had 4 or 5 contractions over the course of an hour and couldn't help but get my hopes it that this could be it. I even said to hubby, to start getting the last few things ready for my bag.

Obviously I tempted fate because the contractions stopped as quickly as they started, and the cramps fizzled out by late evening.

I havdn't had a show or any other signs labour is imminent. Feel a bit crampy today, but only when I'm walking round. DOn't know if its just frustration but I am really emotional today, I am on the verge of tears all the time and for no reason.

The thought of waiting another week, is very depressing!

Some pics of my gorgeous boy...

Awh he's gorgeous, and I love the name, although I'm probably biased as my DS is Jacob too.

I'm also green with envy though - 5 days overdue and still no baby!

as ross said to rachel even im dilated 1!

Who's overdue?

Posted: 07/09/2011 at 12:20
yep i'm overdue! only 3 days so far, but i think it could be a while longer yet, as when i went for my sweep the midwife said my cervix is still posterior (behin baby's head) very high and very closed!

obviuosly the sweep didn't work as i'm still pregnant, having another go on Monday. And induction booked for the 16th (12 days overdue) which seems like an eternity!

39 wk and baby is back to back :0(

Im 40+3 and back 2 back too! Feel much the same as you really, although I now want the baby out so much that I', prepared to take whatever pain that invovles.

I wanted a little pain relief as possible, but i'm much more open minded now, and if labour is worse due to babies position, i'm not going to be a hero and go without!

We'll get there (eventually!) good luck xx

Bit of a moan

Well I went for my second sweep today. I had one last week at 39+4 but the cervix was so high, the midwife couldn't even reach it, and as I wasn't due yet she didn't persevere. So went back this morning at 40+2 and she managed to reach the cervix and get around the membrane, but siad she couldn't even get the tip of her finger inside (sorry if TMI!). So cervix is still posterier and long and fully closed. Baby is now only 4/5ths engaged (was 3/5ths) and to top it off he's now back to back!

So I am going back for a 3rd and final sweep on Monday and have my induction booked for 12 days overdue (a week on Friday), but they didn't really give me much hope that it will work. Because of my previous section i'll only be given one pessary and if that doesn't work I'll have to have another section.

I know in the grand scheme of things I'm only 2 days over due, and 10 more days isn't really that long to wait, but i actually feel quite down about it. I could have opted for an elective section and I would have at least a 10 day old baby by now! still want to have a normal delivery if possible, but it doesnt seem like its ever going to happen!!

ok moan over, hope you're all a bit more positive than me today! xxx

Scaring people with your pregnancy!

ha ha i was in the queue for the post office this morning, and the lady in front was chatting to DS and saying how good he was. Then she asked when I was due, so I said yesterday, and she insisted I go infront of her! I don't know what difference she thought it would make?! She said she thought I was about 6-7 months - seriously I am the size of a house! Then the predictable "you're going to have your hands full" umm yeah I suppose so

Cant bare the idea of going 2 weeks over!

Ah tulip you have said exactly what i was thinking but couldn't put into words well. the only positive about now being overdue, is that where I was terrified of labour, I am now wanting it to happen, and accpeting it is something that I have to do, can do, and will do, in order to have bubs in my arms. Everytime I have a cramp or niggle I'm thinking bring it on! I can do this. of course they then fizzle out to nothing, but it is disappointment not relief that I feel!

Anyway back at midwife tomorrow for a sweep so hopefully that will get things started and if not, its another day ticked off the limited (although not limited enough) days I have left.

Determined to stay positive day! Although I've been awake since 4.30, DS is due to wake up at any minute and hubs is back to school, so my resolve might fade by 10.30 a which point i'll resort to Cbeebies for DS and chocolate for me.

COME ON BABY, GET OUT!!!!!!!!
