pyloric stenosis

How long ago did he have the op? It is very common for them to vomit every feed to start with, but this should settle in max 4-5 days. Any longer I would take them back to the dr to see if it needs a bit more snipping or whether it is caused by a bit of reflux. xx

No period after stopping pill - ttc!

Posted: 08/02/2013 at 19:14

I had a 50 day cycle the first time I came off the pill... I remember how frustrated I was!

Started trying as soon as my period was over and fell pregnant within 2 weeks! Hope you're as lucky... xxx

On then off the pill for ages

I thought it would take ages as I was on it for 12 years straight before coming off... My first cycle off was 50 days which made me panic and think I was in for the long haul, but then I fell pregnant on the first 'proper' cycle after that!

I did a lot of research just after coming off it and it seems that some people experience heightened fertility immediately after as their body kicks in with it's normal hormones and almost goes into overdrive (which has also shown an increase in twins in the first 3 months off the pill!!!!), while others have messed up cycles for up to a year waiting for their body to start producing them... Good luck! xx

Second Trimester Here We Come! :)

I'm another one obsessed with creme eggs at the moment! The adverts on TV arent helping lol. I have put on 2lb in the last week which is the most in the whole pregnancy so far! (Gained about 4lb total now) And feeling like I have a bit of a belly today but feeling fat rather than pregnant lol. Thought I felt some 'popping' feelings when I was laid in bed the other day first thing in the morning but nothing since so not sure. Can't wait to get out of the 'is she fat or pregnant' phase!

Still fitting into normal clothes atm but have graduated into my next size up of jeans. That's mainly to make myself more comfortable than squeezing my normal size on though lol xx

Big baby

I would be very surprised if it was that long as it is normally only 9-10cm around now. That may have been the sac measurement or maybe they included the length of the legs in that (which they don't normally do at this stage...
I wouldn't worry, if baby was that long they would have dated you at 18 weeks so must just be a slightly different measurement.
Take care! Xxx

any guesses, girl or boy??

Second Trimester Here We Come! :)

I havent had a craving for eggs, but I am literally eating ice by the glass-ful!! Can't stop crunching it!!

Have requested to join the FB group

Went into Southampton with my mum today looking at baby shops. Got a short list of prams already! (started looking last year with my friend when she had her baby and got a bit addicted lol)

Hubby and I have also been looking at cots to get ideas. Everything is in the sale at the mo so we're going to choose what we want and then decide whether to get it in the sale or wait til after 20 week scan!

Anyone else getting really bad headaches recently?? I've been getting them for days at a time and they don't go away even with paracetemol!

I've also got a consultant appointment thursday due to a strong history of pre-eclampsia (every woman in my mum's family had it and me and my brother were born at 28 and 29 weeks) and reactive hypoglycaemia which is sort of the opposite of diabetes but generally controlled by diet. Anyone else seen a consultant yet?

I'm not sure what to expect! xx

Lip tie campaign

Is a lip tie the same as a tongue tie??

A tongue tie is where the tongue is connected to the bottom of the mouth too far forward, so means tongue movement is limited.

I know this affects their ability to feed dramatically and can even affect speech later in life but many drs do not believe anything should be done about it. I work on a children's surgical ward at Southampton and we have one of the only surgeons in the country willing to correct this and allow babies to feed normally. We have people from wales, Birmingham and further coming and it has shown me what a big problem this is, and definitely think it should be checked at birth!

I have signed your petition regardless as they both sound similar and affect these poor little babies and new mummies in the same way! xx

Second Trimester Here We Come! :)

MrsAsh, my urge to pee went a while ago... Still get up once a night most nights though. At one point I was getting up 3 times a night!!

Apparently it has to do with when baby 'pops' up and out of your pelvis cos it relieves the pressure on your bladder. Mine is definitely going up, can feel the top of my uterus about an inch below my belly button but havent got a noticable bump yet. Clothes are getting tighter though! It might just be that your little one is happy snuggled down there a bit longer!

I still get waves of nausea every now and again (accompanied by people saying 'are you ok?? you look very pale?') but nothing compared to what it was! Other than that and random period pains I don't have many symptoms at all any more.

Bex it's so nice that you're getting a proper bump! Is this your first baby? xx

20 week scans

Posted: 10/01/2013 at 11:56

Blimey, june is quite late though! If I were you I would be tempted to go out and get stuff while he's still here... set up the nursery etc. Depends on whether you have help to pick everything up though. If you've got people to help you then it isn't so bad I guess. xx
