Follow on milk?

Posted: 02/08/2011 at 10:11
Me again.. What are people thoughts on follow on milk? Nancy is FF on Cow & Gate & HV says no need to change to follow on milk, but she's very small(25th centile) and it's a struggle to get 5oz in her each bottle so was wondering if follow on milk would be better? Have been weening since 17 weeks & it's going really well so no probs on that count, but I know her milk is still the most important food! Any one know the actual difference between newborn formula & follow on? Will give Cow & Gate helpline a call but not sure they'll be completely impartial....

update and some honest advice

G/c from BIF. My LO was the same, would be awake from 4pmish-11ish! At 6 weeks I started proper bedtime routine-bath at 6, feed then bed at 7! This was no miracle & involved me & hubby upstairs most of the night until she really went to sleep between 9&11. After a week or so she was settling by 8.30 & waking 4amish for a feed, would then sleep until I got her up at 7! From 9 weeks she then slept straight through, with a dream feed at 10.30.....she still goes to bed at 7, sometimes going straight of to sleep others talking etc u till after 8. I know this routine doesn't work/suit everyone but it really worked for us! I

Sleeping in tummy???

Hi all, seems very quiet on here, bubbas keeping us all busy?? I just wondered what thought were on babies sleeping on tummies? Nancy is 22 weeks now & always flips herself onto her tummy for naps & bedtime, she would scream as she couldn't get herself back, but in the last couple of days she has just nodded of on her tummy(in a sleeping bag!), so I have been quickly flipping her over-which wakes her up & then crying starts!! Went to get her up this morning & she was on her tummy, so no idea how long she had been like that! So basically is it safe to leave her on her tummy or should I keep flipping her over? Hope you're all well & babies too...

My 14 week old has really gone off her food....she feeds every 4 hours, last feed at 10.30 and averages 5-7oz per feed. But since Thursday I have struggled to get 4 in her & the last 2 days it's been 2oz- just back from docs & no virus or anything so just need to keep trying to feed her often & go back Friday if no change- my mum says to give her some baby rice to keep her eating, but I was adamant it's not good before 17 weeks(which is when I'm going to start weaning anyway,). - basically I'm looking for advice & opinions as I am really worried-she only put on 2oz last week.

Buggies/strollers recommendations

We have a few 'mini-breaks' planned with DD so think we need to get a buggy as our M&P zoom is fab but takes up the whole boot of the car! Would love to here some recommendations?? Price is a concern but also safety, durability etc will all play a part too, she will be 5months old by the time we go so want it to last until she doesn't need it anymore....

Hello!

This is my first time on here since my gorgeous daughter , Nancy May, was born on 16th Feb. I had a pretty traumatic birth, labour for 46 hours(honest!), ending with emergency c-sec, then a few complications in between & even more afterwards, infection, blood transfusion & sky high BP!we were in hospital for almost a week, I still have low iron & am on bp meds for the foreseeable future. Nancy was completely fine it was just me!
Slowly settling into motherhood, can't believe she's 5 weeks old already, I have no routine in place yet & don't think I'll ever get used to the lack of sleep....every day is a new challenge but I love it(typing this with one ear on the monitor as this is the earliest Nancy has gone to sleep so far!)
Hope everyone & all the babies are all good????

Carpal tunnel

I've got this too & midwife said the same, can get splints if it's really bad, but nothing else really to do! My close friend had it but she said it went as soon as she had her daughter!
