First pregnancy miscarriage

Posted: 14/09/2012 at 21:22

well i didn't have great news at the hospital. one of my blood tests tested positive for an antibody that causes blood clotting during pregnancy. apparently it is quite a common cause for second trimester miscarriages. basically i have to have another blood test 12 weeks from mc. so in a few weeks time. to test again as sometimes it can come up high because of the labour/drugs/high bp so i need to see what it is when i have no pg hormones there. when the result comes back (could take a few weeks) we will know where to go next. if it is negative then they don't have a cause. if it is positive then i will be referred to a specialist and my future pregnancies will become high risk, i will have to inject myself daily. and postnatally too. cannot believe it. we wanted answers and now we potentially have one i wish i didn't. so just a waiting game now.

the consultant also said "you know the baby was a girl yes?" NO. no we did not.

truely awful day, feel like i am back at square one. obviously out of the ttc until we know what the situation is. x x

13 days after mc bleeding started again!

Posted: 13/09/2012 at 20:08

Hi Baby Boom,

I had about 3-4 days with no bleeding for it to then come back again after my mmc. I was the same as you though and questioning whether it was my AF or not. However if the break between the bleeding was only a couple of days I wouldn't think it was AF. Mine eventually stopped and then I had a week or so of absolutely nothing and my AF arrived 28 days from my first day of bleeding with MC.

Have you gone to your GP? I went to mine quite a few times for advice and she was really lovely. Basically explained to me that everyone is different and there is no 'normal' when it comes to each individual after a MC. Hope that it stops for you soon x

TTC for a september BFP...

Same here Stripeysocks, my AF arrived on Tuesday so back on the ttc wagon! Staying positive though.. We have a hospital appt tomorrow with a consultant following some tests that we had done after the mmc. So i think it just wasn't meant to be for a sept bfp as we were going to wait until after this appt anyway.

Hey ho onwards and upwards, I am sure we will chat in Oct bfp thread x GL to anyone left x x

Hoping for an October BFP!

hi girls,

i'll join in for an october bfp please am currently on 2nd AF following my mmc in July. cycle seems to be around 28-30 days but with spotting which i never used to have before the mc.

have got some digi ov sticks for this month and am taking pregnacare. going to use conceive plus lubricant again as that worked for us last time... basically going all out!

hope that for those waiting for AF to return it happens soon and you aren't kept waiting too long it is a horrible feeling.

FC for us all- we all deserve some happiness x x

Operation BFP-Sept!

well spent my entire holiday spotting which was horrible and got back today for AF to arrive properly. think maybe going away delayed it slightly for some reason! so put me on a 30 day cycle instead of my usual 28.. although i'm not sure what is usual after mc.

anyway staying positive  maybe an october bfp for hubbies bday..

fc to everyone waiting to test x

First pregnancy miscarriage

it is just luck mylittleangel any healthy couple only has a 20% chance each month or something like that. depends which tube the egg has been released and if enough sperm has made it there (and to the right place) and even if the sperm meets the egg it doesn't always fertilize. so unfortunately no but most doctors advice having sex every other day, more so around your fertile time (usually around 14 days before your next period is due)... i think the best thing to do is just chill and have regular sex. we had sex all through my ovulation time last month and obviously wasn't meant to be..

i completely know what you mean, people at my work were lovely but the things they said still annoyed me. got asked a few times if i had "a nice time off?" to which i had to keep replying "well no not really" followed by people apologising as they just didn't know what to say.. and until a few months ago i wouldn't have known what to say in someone in our situation either so i have to remind myself of that.

hopefully trying to conceive again will give you something positive to focus on hun xx

hi girls,

i am back! holiday was lovely found some bits hard but think it was because it was my first time away from hubby after everything!

was supposed to be due on but just constantly spotted all through holiday and then i think i am going to come on properly today (2 days late) so who knows what is going on with my cycles hope it is just because i went away as my mum said sometimes she used to be late if she was away when due on. think we will just have sex as much as poss this month and hope to catch ov whenever that may be!

not looking forward to friday's hospital appointment but need to get it out of the way now!

glad to see being back at work is going ok apart from that comment fairysare. how has it been for you mylittleangel? i have had lots of thinking time when we have been chilling on holiday so actually looking forward to going back to work again (even with my ridiculous sunglasses tan marks from holiday lol) x x

Operation BFP-Sept!

Think I am out ladies. Had a crampy tummy all night and some spotting so pretty sure af on her way. Although I shouldn't actually come on until Sunday! Which I am hoping is the case cus don't want to battle with irregular cycles now...

Feeling okay about it all, we weren't even sure if we were going to ttc this month as I had only had one af since mc in july (this will be second) so although it has been nice to have something else to focus on we were going against what we were originally going to do. We have a consultant appointment next friday regarding miscarriage and some tests they carried out so i think this has been for the best maybe.

Will go on my holiday come home tues, maybe treat myself to a new hair do and then have hospital appointment friday. Then dust ourselves off and try again.

FC to everyone else!!! x x

well no bfp for us this month, started to spot slightly and been very crampy plus a BFN.. can't help but have mixed emotions.. although had a good word with myself this morning and reminded myself that we weren't even going to ttc this month as we were unsure as to whether it was a little too soon. so being positive about the fact I will have had two af's my appointment with the consultant and then we can properly go for it with no extra worries (other than the obvious ones!) been feeling a bit guilty for being so focussed on falling pg again and trying not to think as much about what has happened. i am still so sad just looking at my little 1s prints makes me want to curl up and not have any contact with anyone but i know that wouldn't be healthy and that having something new to focus on is probably a good thing.
so that is me off on holiday this afternoon until tuesday. then we have the hospital appointment next friday.. think i will treat myself to a nice cut and colour at the hairdressers and then dust myself off and try again.
how is everyone? how has work been fairysare? are you going back next week mylittleangel? my laptop wont let me look back on our prev posts for some reason... hope you are all well. will check back in on here when i am home from holiday x x
