Who wants to join Project April BFP !!!!

Posted: 27/03/2012 at 03:03
I am also up for 'project April" if I can join please.

Although we are not entirely out for March as this week is my fertile week, but so far no +ve on the ov sticks and finding it hard to squeeze in the time for bd'ing as soooo busy... I know it's not an excuse but this month is a tough one for us both work wise

We have only been half heartedly trying for 3 months so if it doesn't work this month (which I am not optimistic about) then we have promised to give it our all in April.

It's so hard not to be disheartened at times but onwards and upwards as they say

Hey ladies how is everyone doing?

Hi JacksMummy2,
I had the same issue as you this month as well. I have always had 28-30 day cycles but this month I was 3 days late. I tried 2 pregnancy tests (even though the OPK tests never gave me a positive result) and both came up with BFN's. Was very upset for a while but then just wanted AF to arrive so I could get on with this month and trying again. It really is a roller coaster ride this TTC lark.
I have asked a few people I know who have recently had babies for any advice and all give me the usual "stop trying" line but I really don't know how I can do that, I am not obsessive and only using OPK sticks and trying to BD at the right time. Oh and I dropped the caffeine in the day (I drink a lot of coffee in work) but that's it.
I think this forum is great for ranting and sharing advice and experiences. Nothing beats being able to share with people who know exactly how you feel.
Wishing you all the best x

This is the third month properly trying for us (the 2 previous to that were half hearted attempts). We are trying a more relaxed approach but also upping the anti a bit and trying to bd more. We tried the 'every other day' method during my fertile week last month, so this month going to try every day of fertile week and see.

I also had an issue with my ov sticks last month, tied it in with my ipad app too. Basically for the entire fertile week and a few days after I did not receive a positive result (sorry to put a dampner on things). However I know the sticks work as the month before I had a positive on them for 3 days (evening, next day and next morning). Am hoping that it was just a blip and that this month nature and my body will be on my side.

I was quite desperate to get pregnant before March as am a teacher and wanted to hand my notice in (even if I get pregnant this month it would be too late in the school I work in) so I feel that that has taken some of the pressure off getting pregnant.

I just want to wish you all the very best of luck, I am sure we will all get our BFPs very soon, so have my FC for you all.

I rarely post on here but we are trying to keep baby plans quiet (as word will spread fast in our social circle if anyone was to find out) and I really just need to vent (no advice needed and nothing will probably help anyway).

I am 30, DH 31 been with DH for 7 years, we got married in November. We moved overseas 4 years ago and are very happy. After the wedding we decided to start trying for a baby in January this year.

I came off the pill about 18 months ago, been tracking body and periods and was on a 28-30 day cycle, with regular 4 day periods. Had been observing CM and periods for about 6 months so I was prepared. Don't want to do temping so bought some internet cheapy Ov sticks. January came but we were both really sick with flu so only BD'd once at the right time. Got my period (2 days early, but normal). Check my OV sticks and they detected the dates I was ov'ing pretty well and in line with phone app I have.

Feb came, and was all excited as neither of us sick ha ha, work schedules were not manic and we were both prepared to give it a good shot. From about day 9 I was using my OV sticks, We BD'd on Day 10, Day 12 and Day 13 with suggested Ov day as Day 14

Day 14 arrived, no +ve on ov stick. Have now tried on Day 15, 16 & 17 and no +ve. Added to that, have been thinking that I have had no CM this cycle at all, very strange for me as I have been checking it for so long and pretty regular with cycles.

So I feel gutted! Absolutely gutted. I know there is always next month etc, and there is no perfect time, but I am a teacher and would like to get my BFP by April so I can hand in my notice. One thing that is strange is that I am feeling incredibly tired and have sore nipples (sorry if TMI) but not boobies. We only BD once in January and I had a period so it couldn't be from then. But I can't of conceived this month as no +ve on Ov stick and too early for symptoms surely.

Like I said, no advice needed, just feeling incredibly down and really just needed to get it off my chest a little.

Thanks for reading

Sorry if tmi : (

Hi, not trying to give false hope, but my boss told me that the earliest sign of pregnancy she had was a upset tummy... this happened to her in both her 1st and 2nd pregnancies (she is 12 weeks into 2nd now). You know your own body, If you think its unusual then could very well be Fingers crossed for you

MrsEH - Gosh wish my OH was as broody as I am.... must be nice working in the same industry.... mine is an absolute workaholic and works 12 hour days and sometimes it would be nice to have someone to share all my spare time with.... we seem to work less hours with more hols than in the UK.

mrsplanner - yep also nearly mentioned some names that would be on my 'naughty names' list he he. Drop me a email and I would love to fill you in on 'moving overseas'... it honestly was not as bad as I thought it would be and would defo now never return to UK (except for hols every now and then). Oh thinking of trying at end of year - hopefully September-ish time! A new years eve baby sounds FAB!

Would like to disclose more info, but worried about people knowing me (know a few friends/colleagues on here and don't want them to know we are planning). Email me at bouncingbeany@gmail.com

Yay another teacher... i teach 14 - 19 though and not in UK... so no luck seeing the babies! I certainly know what you mean about 'names'. From my time teaching in UK I came up with a bank of names I would NOT call my babies... for some reason certain names certainly do have certain personalities/traits/characteristics ha ha... wont mention any for fear of offending anyone.

I too am a planner....serves me well in my career, but not so well in my personal life... and being with someone who is totally unorganised.
I also 'plan' to start ttc in September/October time. Its probably just me, but I feel I have to be even more planned because (as I am overseas) we only get a month maternity leave here and school hols start in June and don't want mat leave and hols to coincide... but sometimes its best to try and take a step back and let things happen (a lot easier said than done though hey!)

I have been watching this forum for some time, but have not been brave enough to post
I am 28 and OH is 29, have been together 5 years. A few years ago we packed our UK bags (and pets) and moved overseas. Planning on TTC around September.
