Rolling in sleep...........

Posted: 17/02/2012 at 16:32
My daughter does it in the Sleeping bag so that doesn't work for us lol. I don't know if anything works. If they want to roll they will roll I suppose although is a nightmare for us.

Rolling in sleep...........

My daughter is 7 1/2 months and can't roll right over during the day. She can only roll on her side but when it comes to night time thats a different story. She twists and turns all night and ends up in all different directions. Her feet where her head should be and vice versa. Other times in a ball in the corner and a lot of the time on her belly with one arm trapped. Its a nightmare and I constantly have to fix her during the night. I was wondering what I could do as well.

The age gap between mine is 3 years 9 months and I find this a good age. My eldest is a great help as well and she is brilliant with Rebekah. I can't fault her. So kind to her and plays and talks away to her. I have to go back to work at the start of April. Not looking forward to it. I work 9am - 4.15pm Monday to Friday as I reduced my hours after I had my first. I am now permantely on those hours as I agreed them before I had Rebekah. My husband looks after the children though so I am fine. My eldest Kara has Type 1 Diabetes since she was 14 months old so we need someone who knows her well to be always around and especially now at nursery and when she starts Primary school in September. I think if I Kara didn't have Diabetes I would have had another baby sooner for company for Kara as I find they do need company. However we wanted to have Kara sorted and stable enough before we even thought of another.

Rebekah is doing well with weaning. She is having 3 meals a day and this week has decided to cut down to 3 bottles a day so from yesterday I have had to try and work out a new routine so that her last bottle is around 7pm so that she can go straight to bed then. Started it yesterday and she was in bed for 8am last night and that was her until 8.30 this morning. She just stopped having a bottle around 9ish at night as she was so tired to drink it. She has increased her oz during the day though so it works out ok and I give her formula mixed with her cereal in the morning which gives her more. When Kara goes back to school on Thursday again everything will have to be brought forward again to be out the door in time lol.

Teething??

Does he have a Dummy? Maybe he is just waking for that. My daughter spits her dummy out when asleep and lasts a while before she wants it again. When she stirs and make noise I put it straight back in and she sleeps again. When she was teething a couple of weeks back she cried everytime the dummy came out. This has settled down again. I also find that she sleeps better with her blanket close to her face so she sleeps in her sleeping bag and I put her blanket around the bars of the cot with only a bit sticking out so she can lie against it. This helps her sleep longer. My other daughter has a comfort blanket as well and she is now 4 and loves it.

Aw thats great that you had a nice Xmas. We had a lovely Xmas as well with the two girls. Rebekah was 6 months on boxing day. She has her own wee personality now and is so much fun and really smiley. She is on 3 meals a days now and is enjoying her food. She got loads for Xmas but as you said they don't really appreciate it at that age. My other daughter is 4 past in September and I noticed this was the first year that she really understand properly what everything was about and had a ball with all her presents.

My eldest had Sophie as well and I passed it onto the baby now. She loves it. Its brilliant and a great wee teething toy.

Getting her weighed in January so not sure exactly what she is but I know she is very long. Tall like her daddy and sister.

I didn't start my both daughters until they were 5 months but every child is differet. It depends that maybe the bottles aren't filling him right. I just knew the time was right with both of mine. Some people wean from 4 months but I just preferred to wait a while longer. It would probably help put on a bit of weight but the milk is better for that. It may just fill him up a bit more now.

Hew how are you. Glad your son is going well. I was due on 1st August but had my daughter on 26th June so a but earlier than expected. I have another daughter who is 4 years old. My daughter doesn't like tummy time either and cries when you put her on her tummy. My eldest daughter was the same.

I have started her on 3 meals a day from this week. I weaned her at 5 months and she has been doing fine. She was never a great bottle feeder either but she is her correct weight for her age. She is also very long like her Daddy. I am going to have 2 very tall girls lol.

I am off work until April and loving being off but I will be glad to get back for a full wage again haha. Maternity pay is a killer.

Have a massive problem.

Just reading this thread. Good luck. Everything will be fine. You will look back at this next year and wonder what all the worry was about. Everyone always gets by. It is hard at times but you seem to have a great close family.

I weaned Rebekah at 5 months and she is on 2 meals a day and she won't be 6 months until boxing day. She usually has porridge mixed with her own formula and then a rusk. I am going to start her on fruit this week.
