I'm the same as you - an anterior placenta was picked up at my private scan and despite being my third, have felt no real movement so to speak. I've also given up with the doppler as i was getting stressed at not finding anything but the sonographer reassured me at the scan that the anterior placenta would be the reason why.
I too am stressed that something will go wrong & feel so much closer knowing it's my little boy in there & even had an awful dream at the weekend where i lost him! My sensible head though says that it is completely reasonable to not feel very much, if anything, with an anterior placenta & makes it much harder to pick up anything with the doppler. Try not to worry (easier said than done i know!) - we can stress about it together!
