Catch up!!!

Im so pleased Im not the only one not BF - I have been tearing myself to shreds for the last 4 weeks feeling guilty that I didnt stick at it I really feel like Ive let her down. She is such a hungry baby though I wouldnt have been able to cope! Caitlin Mae is now 4 weeks and a day old cant believe she is a month old on Monday. Shes developing really fast shes got great head control, has been trying to smile for a week now and is even trying to turn herself over when shes being changed! I love her so much it has been a struggle but oh so worth it. She has 4oz every 3 hours roughly but the last few days has done quite a few 4-5 hour stretches and I only have to get up once at night which is fab. She was 7lb 2oz when born and was 8lb 4oz when she was weighed nearly 2 weeks ago - getting her weighed again on weds i cant wait! So nice to catch up with all my bump buddies im glad everyone and babes are ok

My birth story...

OMG hun congrats Im so pleased for you she is gorgeous. Got me all emotional then reading that it reminded me of the moment I first saw my little girl and that was only 3 weeks ago.

Jane gave birth at home to Grace Jane at 4:21am, labour lasted 7 hours and both mum and baby are well. Hun I cant believe we were due on the same day yet I was 10 days early and you were 10 days late!!

Congrats so so pleased for you cant wait to see pics xxx

Jane and little Grace had to go in-to hospital on Sat night as there was a concern over her weight but they are back home and getting settled in now - Im sure Jane will be online to share details and piccies as soon as she has time

Lost my mucus plug

Hi hun, could be any time now! I had 3 shows, one at lunch time which was tiny, one absolutely huge one about an hour later and a smaller bloody one at tea time and Caitlin was born at 8:37 that evening

Amount of formula

Caitlin is 2 weeks 4 days old and is currently taking about 3.5-4oz every 3-4 hours, she weighed 7lb 7oz last weds so think she will be about 8lb when she is weighed tomorrow and is having more feeds than what it says on the tin btu as shes so young im just going with what she wants when she wants it. if we can time her feeds right and feed her just before we go to bed i will only need to get up once in the night which is nice. she has plenty of wet nappies and dirties her nappy 1-2 times a day sometimes 3 so im just going to keep going as I am until she starts wanting more

hiya hun,
thanks for your message - Caitlin Mae was born on 17th July 10 days early at 8:37pm weighing 7lb 2oz. I started having contractions at 5am on the thursday morning they were about 20 mins apart and by 4am on friday morning were 5 mins apart and lasting a minute. I called the birthing center and was told to have a bath and paracetamol as it was still early days. decided to go back to bed and woke up and they had stopped. then had a little show at midday and another absolutely massive one at about 2ish and then the contractions started again. at tea time i had a bloody show and was getting to the stage where the pain was quite bad. called the hospital who said give it half hour then call back and come in if i need to, and by 6:30 I was sat in the birthing center having contractions that were lasting well over a minute and werent very far apart. was crying my eyes out as was in so much pain and had only had 2 paracetamol which had done sweet fa!! they decided to examine me at about 7:15 as there was literally no gap between my contractions and i was struggling to breathe thru them, and lo and behold i was fully dilated! so got changed and got up on the bed and had to have an hour on gas and air as baby wasnt engaged. my waters hadnt broken and shot out of me still fully intact and they could see her little hand poking out in the sack of water which apparently theyve never seen before so i had just about every midwife on the ward coming to have a look lol, so they had to break them then put her arm back inside and check for a cord prolapse. at half 8 I said to the midwife I need a really big poo and 7 minutes later she was with us! so all in all on my labour notes it says length of labour 1 hour 20 mins lol it was over so quickly. was the hardest and most painful thing ive ever done but so worth it and id do it all over again it was an amazing experience. had 3 1st degree tears as she came out with her hand on her head, but no stitches so was really pleased.
