sweeps??

Posted: 31/08/2011 at 18:37
Hi hun

G/C but I had a sweep with DD at 41 weeks and it worked - I had her the next day!

It's a little uncomfortable but not painful, and I had a spectacularly rough junior doctor as cervix was still very high! But it still worked. I think it's a bit hit and miss - if baby's ready but needs a little reminder, it seems to work! Good luck! xxx

4 day old - really gunky eyes?

Congratulations on your LO! DD was born with a gunky eye, I tried the boiled water, breastmilk etc. and Dr prescribed eye drops, none of which made any difference!! My friend told me to massage the inner corner of her eye with my little finger to help clear the ducts - she woke up the next morning and it was completely clear!

9 month... all change?

Posted: 22/07/2011 at 19:07
My LO went through a stage similar to this at 9 months!

I think it's a combination of factors but was mainly teeth for us. She refused all food except yoghurt (this is the child who loved mackerel!) and would drink lots of milk but just wouldn't eat. It didn't last long! She's probably waking up because her teeth hurt /wants comfort / still hungry as she's eating less than she used to. Teething granules / camomile tea does really help (if you can get it down her!)

The nappy change issue is, apparently, definitely a phase but LO is 12 months now and hates having her nappy changed, specially if we're out and about. It's really quite stressful isn't it! At home, something like my phone, holding the nappy etc .distracts her a little. xxxx

baby hitting his head repeatedly

My LO does the head banging too, she likes the headboard and thinks it's hilarious to smack her head against it!! Apparently they get a sort of 'high' from it?!

I'm not sure about the ear thing though. Maybe ask your HV? It might just be one of his little quirks! xxx

My LO fell out of bed =( has this happened to anyone else

Posted: 19/07/2011 at 17:31
Aw hun I totally understand! LO has managed some spectacular falls (yesterday she decided to use her toybox lid as a skateboard before I could stop her) and she also did a sail out of the bed very much like your LO when she was about 8 months! She was in with me and just rolled over in her sleep, I usually have an arm over her when she's in bed with me but she escaped and rolled. You were very unlucky to get a fracture!! It's totally normal to feel guilty, I know I felt terrible, but these things happen!

Blondefriend that made me laugh - I can't believe he was asleep under the bed!! Your friend must have been out of her mind with panic!

Anyone taken medication for morning sickness?

Posted: 05/07/2011 at 12:23
Hey hun, g/c but I was given phenegan for hyperemesis with LO. I couldn't stop being sick. It really, really helped, I took it last thing at night and it would last nearly 24 hours. It didn't cure all nausea but made it bearable! xxx

Some scummy loser stole my buggy!!

GC but saw this on sidebar - I always dreaded this happening when I take LO swimming! I'm so sorry hun, it must be horrible. I remember when our LOs were newborn, my friend (she has the mothecare spin) took her LO for jabs and was told she had to leave bugy outside. She could see it from the room she was in and saw this woman come up and try to take it!It's always horrified me that people could be that low so as to steal a child's pushchair. xxx

Baby food jars...advice needed?

Posted: 03/07/2011 at 12:17
Lol I never thought about it before but yes, all the ones I remember were mixes like apple and blueberry!

I know it is a pain but why don't you do a load of purees and stick them in the freezer? That's what we used to do.

Lightweight pushchair to take on holiday any ideas?

Posted: 30/06/2011 at 17:53
I have the maclaren quest and used it for holiday, was very handy going through security as it folds completely and fitted through the xray - the poor people in front of us had to take the wheels and everything off their travel system so this was a relief!
