Not Coping

Posted: 05/03/2012 at 06:58
Oh I really feel for you, I actually don't know how I got through the first few weeks but I did, I didn't have any symptoms and I bled but everything is still going well now (am 29 weeks). I think I tried really hard to not think about anything baby related and kept busy, its really tough but you don't have a choice-before you know it those long hours become days and days become weeks. What you're going through sounds completely normal, I remember crying myself to sleep night after night as I was so convinced that I was going to miscarry, you over analyze every little twinge and start driving yourself crazy. I got to the point where I wished I hadn't started ttc after m/c as the first few weeks were so torturous. I really don't have any better advice as I think you can only keep plodding on through these weeks, one way or another you'll come through the other side of it and these few weeks will seem a world away. I wish you both so much luck, remember we're here if you ever want a rant!!

Using a birthing pool at home

Not sure how you check but its definetely worth finding out, we ran out of hot water whilst filling the pool and OH was boiling kettles/pans on the hob etc and pouring them in the pool whilst I was pushing. We've since moved and this post has reminded me that I need to check so Thank you! x

back to back baby

Oh and one other thing, if baby does come out b2b and looking up be prepared for them to look a bit more squashed than usual, the tip of dd's nose was touching her cheek and took a good few months to straighten properly, needless to say I was a little shocked when I got my first glimpse of her, however she is now a perfect 22 month old!!

I have good news for you also!! My daughter turned during labour and came our back to back and she was looking up! I had her at home with no pain relief so it can be done, try not to panic. I actually think it helped that I didnt know that she was in such an awkwark position as I would have worried unnecessarily and would have got it into my mind that I couldn't do it!
I was pushing for quite a long time and did tear and had to be stitched but it honestly wasn't that bad.
Definetely don't assume that it will be horrific because it wont necessarily, and plenty of births are traumatic when babies are in the perfect position anyway.
There is still a chance that baby will turn before or even during labour so try not to worry about it too much, I can honestly hand on heart tell you that it really wasn't too bad!!
Good luck!

so nervous about scan on wed!!!

Hi, I was feeling exactly the same as you last monday, my last preg ended in m/c so I was convinced this one would. But my scan was fantastic!! Saw a baby straight away so relaxed immediately. Its completely normal to be feeling how you are and I know nothing I say will make you relax, all I can suggest is trying to keep busy until Weds, it obviously won't take your mind off scan but may help a little!! Massive good luck vibes coming your way!!
