Summer 2013 IVF/ISCI ladies

Hey Andi congrats on getting this far! How have you found the meds? I have buserelin for down reg and Menopur for stimulation and then ovitrelle for the trigger shot! some are in the fridge and others a cool cupboard, a sharps box and loads of needles! I am glad of these sites as I was expecting all the gubbins if not think I may have passed out! So what date are on for for egg collection?

We are having IUI for us it is just the trigger then hubbies little chaps are put up lol! and then fingers crossed!

Really hoping we can start with July's period due on the 1st as long as they can get me in for baseline ultrasound with the first few days. Fingers crossed my sis' hen do is in August and wedding at the end!!!

How are you Kimberley? let me know how your meds lesson goes! ours is next Thursday. Be nice to be with other couples who are in the same boat. All the best everyone : ) lots of virtual hugs xxx

Hey I think that i read somewhere that there is an overlap for a while, could you call your clinic just to check? I am not 100% it can be sooo confusing! I would think that as one is to stop something and the other is to stimulate it sounds odd to have them both at the same time? 26th isnt that long to go how are you feeling? I just wanna get moving now xx

1st IUI with injections... due to start... any tips?

Hey everyone,

you may remember me from trying to conceive, then lttc now I am here! well we are due to start SO IUI in the next few weeks (consent form signing on 19th the meds lesson on 27th) the we will have our plan and be good to go... anyone else due to start soon?

I am speaking to some lovely ladies who are having ivf/icsi and I think the first phase of my treatment is similar, with the down reg and then stimms.

1) I was wondering if anyone knows what cycle day I would start down regging on? My next period is due on the 27th (same day as injection lesson) so I am hoping I can start with that cycle. Or will I need scans and blood work before I start?

2) Do you know how much time off work I will need? this is such a hard one... I have swapped some shifts so far (I work in retail) and that hasnt been a problem and I have used a days annual leave. My clinic is an hour away so its not a quick journey.

3) When you are stimming are you scanned/ bloodwork every other day? if so I may take some days annual leave.

Thanks everyone I know I should wait and ask the hospital just nice to get other peoples experiences : ) can feel quite alone if you do not have friends or family who have been through it.

hey andi30xx I know what you mean about the time off thing?! am I right in thinking that when you are taking stims you have to go and have scans and bloodwork everyother day? the girls I work with are very easy going but my boss might not be! x

I love this forum too been so good for me. I keep a journal too which really helps with the emotions I'm a counsellor so I guess that helps at times like this lol! It really is rough but you are right keep focused on your path even if it feels longer and more wiggly! Cannot wait to start the lady in boots tonight was printing out 3d baby scan photos! Ahhhh xxx

hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has tried IUI first or are you all first time ivf/icsi ers?

We will be moving onto icsi if this IUI does not work. I am hoping at our meds lesson on the 27th June that there will be the chance for us both to give injecting a go, I think I will be able to do it after a while just need to be brave I guess and think of the goal!

Has anyone heard of down regging before IUI? I think this is the plan for us?! god you get told so much info and you are kinda in shock... the hand out says down regging first too. So would that be on day 21?

I agree with Kimberley 2 I know ladies with blocked tubes and they got their bfp no worries.

Hope you had a lovely holiday trottee think it def helps before the process begins.

How you getting on Andi30 xx? think we may have 'met' at the same time back in 2011! fingers crossed for your treatment are you having ivf?

Really cannot wait for my plan so we have something to work towards we will be just waiting for the first cycle day (as doing IUI with injectables).
