napping ?

Posted: 22/07/2011 at 16:02
We've found that Pops doesn't always take a nap in the day now, although it has become more frequent lately. She normally wakes 7:30-8am, and naps around 1pm for an hour or so. She does take an age to go off at night, sometimes awake until 8:30-9pm.

When she doesn't nap, she goes to bed slightly earlier than usual (bed time normally 6:15-7pm), and settles without a fuss generally. Although she doesn't manage too badly without a nap, I feel that she still needs it, as she is completely exhausted by bed time when she's not slept.

Not sure about tweaking our routine, as there's not much room for change given her wake up time. She still has a bath at night, although rather than daddy hyping her up (when he baths her) we've calmed it down a bit. Hope it's just a phase they're going through. I think generally, they need naps until around 2 1/2-3 years, although obviously each child is different.xx

Changing Bag for toddler and baby?

Posted: 17/07/2011 at 16:35
I have a PacaPod for our 18 month old & 5 month old. I love it because if I only have our eldest with me, I tend to just take the changing pod. If I'm taking them both, I have plenty of room for nappies for both and bottles/food/snacks plus changes of clothes/sun-cream etc. I don't know how I managed without when I had my first! They're excellent, and very well-made too. I can see it lasting until long after I no longer need it!xx

nearly 8 months - food issues

Posted: 12/07/2011 at 07:27
Sorry for the quick reply, on my phone & on my way out. My first thought reading this is is he hungry when you're offering food? How much milk is he on & do you think he could/needs to drop a bottle? If he's getting too much milk, he may not have an appetite for food as he's filling up on milk. My eldest never put anything in her mouth either, although now at 18 months she's making up for it! If you're concerned & not getting anywhere with your HV maybe make
an appointment with your GP to discuss your concerns & explain the lack of help fro
your HV. Good luck xx
