breastfeeding dilemma

Posted: 06/02/2011 at 16:51
Hi, im still breastfeeding and my lo turned 1 last week. I only feed at lunchtime and bed time and im sure he is only really getting fresh air. Ive had a couple of periods over the last year but its only now my periods have returned. I had one at the start of jan and now another 4 weeks later so im guessing they are back now. I know everyone is different tho.

I wouldnt want to give up bf to fall pg just yet and even tho it took a while to fall pg the first time, im sure it wont take as long the next time. At 33 you are not over the hill yet, i had my first at 32, and ive had my 3rd at 36.

Hi you!!!!! We are now on 2 feeds a day. I had to stop the morning feed coz he would be nosing around and not feeding and i dont have time for that in the morning,. I tend to give him a feed after lunch before his feed and at bed time. I have to feed him upstairs now on my own coz if anyone walks past he is pulling off and smiling at them. H does fanny about quite a lot, but i find that when he does that its coz hes drunk all or most of the milk and is still not tired. He tends to do that if he has slept too long in the day. What ive had to do a few times is let him wriggle around for a while, give him both boobs again and if that doesnt work i have given him a bottle a few times.

Could it be she is still hungry or not ready to crash out?????

Stolen from BIM...

oooh love it, any excuse

Due Date/Actual Date:

Due 30/1/10, actual 29/1/10

Did you go into labour naturally? Yes

How was labour?, extremely quick, and very funny!
Was fine at 10.30pm , had 2 contractions and phoned hosp

Left house at 11.10pm,
got to hosp at 11.35pm, contrations about a min apart, i was singing loudly lalala to take my mind off it!!! Midwife said i couldnt be that bad if i was smiling and laughing, so took me to triage.
Examined around 11.55pm and was 4-5cm, so put me on bouncy ball!! Went to my labour room around 12.15am which had NO BED. Crawled onto chair next to gas and air!!

Midwife came back in and started shoving mat things under my knees on the chair, but which point i was pushing without meaning too!!!

Asked if a baby was coming out or if i was having a big poo, at which point my waters promptly burst all over midwife!! (Paused gas and air to apologise!!)

Baby's arrival:

Popped out at 12.26, less than an hour after getting to hosp and about 2 hours after first contraction

Afterwards:

Still on my chair, phoned my mum and said it was a false alarm and was coming home!!! then said, only joking!!!! Delivered placenta, still on my chair! Hubby went home and left me, got moved to another room with a comfy.......chair and sat till 8am when the docs did all their stuff and got home

Name:Arran Alexander

At home: Hubby and other boys came to get me and we went to McDonalds!!! came home and started ringing people, got home about 11.30am!!!

Very quick!!!!! but loved it all, even the feeling of him coming out, even tho it is sore!!!!

Lol LB, im wondering how to do the school run in the morning when we cant get the car up the street and ive got 6 kids to take to 2 school bus stops and 1 nursery!!!

When did your lo drop a nap?

Posted: 27/11/2010 at 17:14
My lo has one or 2 naps. If he has 2 he has one at about 10am ish just for 10-15 mins then a big sleep after lunch for anything from 30 mins to 3 hours. if he hasnt had a morning nap, My oldest was 3 when he dropped his daytime sleep, he always had an hour after lunch, but my middle one dropped it around age 2, but he would go to bed at 5-6pm for a while.

I think they still need a sleep in the day, and if a couple of 30 mins do the job then fine,. I find if they dont have a nap they dont settle well at night coz they are over tired.

im sure she wont notice its not xmas yet!!!! They just change overnight!!!! I keep thinking we wont get much more use from the jumperoo, then i put him in it and he goes mad!! I dont encourage tummy time or walking, but im sure it wont be long! He is getting from siting over to crawl position and can go backwards quite quickly!!! AArrrrggghhhh its a nightmare when the walk round everything, its the poor wee souls heads that catch it all the time!!!
