Your views on the use of dummies

Posted: 08/08/2012 at 11:40

My boy had a dummy as I can take it off him but cant take a thumb off him. Plus it reduces cot death and save my poor nipples whilst breastfeeding. Having said that it is entirely each to their own. I do hate the comments people make when the see my baby with his dummy, it is no one else business.

Nursery

I painted after my 20 week scan, so the smell would def be away for his arrival and then the nursery furniture was built and finishing touches done at 4 weeks to go.

Am I wrong?!

I think that sounds like my boy was at that age. If your HV is happy and its a baby led routine then I think its ok. MIL's info's are usually 20 years expired!! lol Most people would cut their arm off for that routine. Plus their wee routines alter constantly, so might not be the same in a months time.

brushing teeth???

Your not supposed to rinse your mouth after brushing. Only a small amount of toothpaste should be used so there should be no need to rinse. Babies mostly drool it out anyway!

Hope that helps

I found smaller pots of natural yogurt 'yeo valley' 150g pots. they can be opened for 3 days. So I have now just been splitting the pot into 3 tubs and dropping a frozen fruit puree in it in the morning and its all melted by the time he gets it.

Hi Glitterbug,

I've been giving him petit filous and he loves them so much, the amount of sugar in them does concern me a bit but at the same time he does have to have some sugar in his diet or he might go crazy at a kids party when he gets it for the first time

I do agree they are a great source of calcum.

Oh and cannot get the plum baby yogurts anywhere, they dont stock them in any stores near me even though they are listed as stocklists.

Embarrassing babies!!!!

My little darling likes to grab my top and try and pull my boobs out. He hasn't been breast fed since he was 10weeks old so I think he is just a booby man! Invested in a lot of high necked tops and dress scarfs!!
