Old BE member needs your help

Posted: 29/01/2010 at 11:28
size=18]Hi ladies and bumps
I am an old BE member, and i havent used this site for quite a while now. For those of you who dont know me i'm a mummy to two, my dd is two and a half and ds is one and half. I need your help ladies...
I have done a pg test this morning which had come up +. I thought my LMP was 12.01.10 but could i get a positive result so early? Thinking back to this period it was lighter than usual and didnt last aslong so maybe it wasnt aunt flo afterall. I'm goignt to get a CBD tomorrow and see what that says... i'm so confused as there could be two potential fathers depending on when this baby was concieved.
Thanks all... needed to get that off my chest..
A very worried Erinsmummy x

Are we cruel??...

Posted: 12/02/2009 at 19:47
You are not cruel imo, but i have to agree with tiger lily i would not leave a new born to cry for 10mins alone, obviously she isnt too distressed as is settling after that time but maybe stay with her and hold her hand and stroke her head or something. She is your baby tho hun, so it really is up to you but if you dont feel 100% comfortable leaving her, dont. She is still very very young and will learn to settle herself to sleep eventually, dont beat yourself up about it. Do what you think is right.

Baby spots....

I think most babys get this hun, both my two did, just keeo her little face clean and dry and they will settle down. I think it's just their skin secreting all the water and grease and getting used to air if that makes sense?

Hiccups.....

Posted: 12/02/2009 at 19:37
Hi, my lo Erin used have hiccups all the time whilst i was pregnant and then when she was born until about 2mnths old. We used to offer her some more milk to try and stop them (worked most of the time) also we used to give her a dummy to suck as she got irritable with them if they didnt go quickly. I think it's pretty common, try not to worry.
My dad once had hiccups for 2 days solid! Ha!Ha! x

White tongue....

Hi
A good way to tell the difference between thrush and milk is if there are white spots on the roof of the mouth (if so prob thrush). Also try to rube your finger over tongue does any come off, milk would a little and is it there even before feeds?
If it is thrush... dont worry it's easily treatable and youve done nothing wrong. My 2nd Joe has it when he was 2 weeks old... it spread to his bum (which is apparently common) it just looked like tiny red spots on his bot, both were gone within a week of medicines and creams. Ask your midwife or HV to have a look.
Katie.

easy does it both times???

i think everyone is different.
With my first i was in the latent phase for 3 days in active labour for 14hrs, she was 8 days late... with my second i was in active labour for 16hrs! he was 7 days late. There is only 12mnth between my two so everyone said it would be esay as things hadnt had chance to return back to 'noramal' HA! What did they know!? They were both 'normal' labours and straight forward.
My sil gave birth to her 2nd in 9mins! She was being assessed due to pre-eclampsia on the post natal ward... she had had a few twinges but nothing major... her waters went then she was shouting she needed to push... 9 mins later Ruby Millie was born. They just delivered her in the ward and pulled the curtains round! Ha!ha! Some people are just born lucky!!
