Wow, am glad to hear that your LO is better now. I hope my DD gets over this soon too. It is hard carrying her everywhere I go. My arms are killing me!! She's not a light weight!

Thanks for your post.

DD Screams every time I leave the room

How funny, my lo has been a nightmare with her day time naps as well. Her top two teeth have just cut - I wonder if this is anything to do with it?

I thought that maybe she has been spoilt over xmas as my hubby was at home and we were visiting family so she had constant company and attention. Hmmm, it is so difficult. I can't even leave the room to go to the loo without a full on melt down.

Really hope it will stop soon!

DD Screams every time I leave the room

Hi,

Anyone else experiencing this?

Since Christmas has been and gone my DD has suddenly started screaming the place down whenever I leave the room. She used to only do this if she was getting tired or a bit tetchy. I used to be able to leave her playing in my living room while I nipped out to put washing on, or get her lunch ready.

Now, she literally goes crazy the second I set foot outside the room. And I mean full on tears and the 'I can't breath because I'm crying so much' type of crying. Am having to carry her around with me everywhere.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a phase?

Thanks,
Edie xx

Hi,

Unfortuantely, I cannot speak from personal experience as I breastfed and bottle fed from the beginning, but I know that 3 of the ladies in my antenatal group who exclusively breastfed all had problems getting their little ones to take formula milk from the bottle.

They all managed to do it in the end with the help of their hubbies. Basically when milk time rocked around in the day, the mum would 'pop' out for a couple of hours and leave hubby with the task of feeding baby the milk. Eventually all the babies took to the bottle and all three happily drink their formula milk now. Am not sure if they have moved on to taking it from their sippy cups, but they all drink water/juice from sippy cups ok.

I guess a hungry baby knows that daddy can only give them formula - so it's that or nothing! Obviously means you have to try it when daddy is at home. Anyway, hope this helps.

Take care,
Edie xx

Hi Minnie!

Sadly am not on facebook, but great to hear from you! So pleased to hear your little one is doing well. My DD is going through a funny phase at the moment. She keeps going to sleep sitting up in her cot! Wierd eh? She recently got the hang of sitting herself up from lying down so she just keeps doing it. The last few nights she has slept sitting up. Day time naps are a nightmare!

Am hoping it is a phase and will pass soon. Anyway, great to hear from you. Hope you don't mind me g/c this forum!

Speak to you soon!

Love,

Thanks that's a good idea. She is getting over a cold at the moment, so it maybe that she isn't very comfortable lying down.

Will give anything a try!

Thanks,
Edie xx

Hi NN,

Hope you don't mind me trying to find you. It's been so long since I've been on BE, but was wondering how you are doing? I know that your DD must be coming up to 1 - and thought I would pass on my birthday wishes.

Hope you remember me from ttc after mc a long while ago now. My DD is 10 months old now. Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Have posted in BID as well.

Take care,
Edie xx

Help - DD sleeping sitting up

Posted: 28/12/2010 at 17:37
Hi,

Really need your help and advice.

My DD is very close but isn't quite crawling yet, but in the last few weeks has mastered sitting up from lying down either on her back or on her tummy. She has also just worked out how to pull herself up to standing in her cot.

The problem I now face is that when I put her down at bedtime she immediately sits back up, and the last two nights in a row, has fallen asleep sitting up. Am not sure what to do. She is asleep right now sitting up. My hubby has just been into to her room and tried to lie her down, but she wakes up and starts howling. She sits back up and then goes straight back off to sleep....

Am not sure what to do? Her day time naps have been a real challenge today as well, with her constantly sitting up etc.

Is anyone else having the same problems? I would appreciate any help or advice....

Thank you.
