Teething at 10 weeks??? :-S

Posted: 28/11/2010 at 18:02
Hope someone can give me some advice.....
my little boy is almost 10 weeks old and has always self settled at bedtime, but for the last few nights he has started crying soon after being put down to sleep and isnt hungry, i soothe him by stroking and shushing but minutes after i leave the room he starts crying again, and wakes up every few hours during the night, again he isnt really hungry, he might take and ounce or two of milk but thats it. he usually drains 6oz bottles. ive tried calpol but he cries even more and spits it out.
could it be because he has a bit of a cold? (just a bit of a cough and blocked nose but we use nasal spray to help that)
or could it be teething? his cheeks are rosy and he puts his fist in his mouth a lot, also i felt his gums and they are very hard and a bit sharp?
any suggestions gratefully recieved! xx

Hi, hoping for some advice on breast pumps. Ive started expressing as i have really not been getting on with breast feeding, im currently just using a manual TT pump but find it really slow to get the milk out and have quite a greedy baby! are there any pumps you would reccomend that are fast and easy to use? ive heard good things about the medela swing but any other reccomendations i would love to hear!
Thanks xx

Job Advice

I wouldnt live with my inlaws if you paid me, let alone with a baby. I definitely think you need your own space, especially when adjusting to being a new family and learning to cope with a new born.
as for the job, It doesnt sound like a job you really want to do, wether you take it or not depends on how much you really need an income. however doing the job while pregnant the employer would have to take into account certain health and safety issues once you announced your pregnancy and hours and working conditions might have to be adjusted. i wouldnt suggest gettting pregnant until you had passed your probation, which i think you would need to do pretty much anyway to qualify for maternity pay.
obviously i dont know your full situation but personally i would wait to ttc until you were financially stable enough to have your own home and income. it would put too much stress on you otherwise, living with the inlaws and being pregnant in a physically demanding job while planning for your baby.
