Second plus timers, what can you tell first timers that they might not have been told?

Posted: 30/03/2012 at 16:26
G/C but im a recent second time mummy. Here is what they don't tell you:

That about 4 months after birth, your hair starts falling out (I though I had developed alapecia, lol)

That you can bleed for up to 8 weeks.

That it does look like you are loosing a lot of blood, but dont worry, thats normal

That you may not have an instant bond with your baby, and thats normal too!!

That bf, as amazing as it is, requiers a great deal of practice (but worth it!)

That it is not the end of the world, and you are not a bad mummy if you choose to ff.

that your first proper period after you have stopped bleedin can be very heavy. Mine was that bad it really scared me, and I ended up at the docs.

And lastly, that it is perfectly acceptable to scream, swear, chant or humm your way through labour if you so wish! What ever gets you though it.

For all you first time mummies, you are in for the most amazing experience of your entire life. It is truely magical, becoming someones Mum. Enjoy every minuiet!

I'm in shock

ive only got 19 months between mine, and although it can be hard work at times, it is also the most fun I have ever had. Your little boy will do a lot of growing up over the next few months and by the time your next one arrives, will be slightly more independant. My boy was. My little girl is now 17 weeks old, and her big brother adores her. We're even thinking of No3 already, lol. Congratulations hun. Enjoy your pregnancy xxx

advice please!!!

advice please!!!

Well said Feebs. At the end of the day hun, however your baby is born, as long as you are both healthy, then that is the main thing. x

advice please!!!

By the way, you can refuse continuous monitoring. I opted for intermitent monitoring and an active labour.

advice please!!!

my first born was an EMSC due to be stuck. He was 7lb 13oz. 14 weeks ago, I gave birth to my 9lb 4oz baby girl, via a successful VBAC.Your body can do it hun, you just have to trust it. There is a fantastic support group on Facebook called VBAC support, who helped me tremendously, and they have so much info. x

Has anybody used fucidin cream on a burst abcess before??

Posted: 20/02/2012 at 17:32
I had a burst abcess on my C-section scar and this is what they gave me. It worked brilliantly, and it didn't sting or anything when applied. Hope your boy gets better soon x

Can I just check this is normal???

csection or vbac

For me, it would now be VBAC every time. My boy was delivered by EMSC 22 months ago. I had a very traumatic experience, one that left me feeling a bit useless and deflated for a ery long time. When I fell pregnant with my DD last feb, I was set on having an elective, as I didn't think I could have coped with anoth emsc. However, I joined this amazing froup on FB (VBAC support group) and they gave me so much information and support, that I felt confidant enough to attempt VBAC. My DD was born 10 weeks ago, after a successful VBAC, weighing 9lb 4oz, without pain reliefe. It is achievable hun, but it is a very personal choice. I suggest getting as much information as possible, and maybe also arrange for an appointment with your consultant to go over your ntes from last time. That way, you can see what exactly lead to your emsc and find out whether or not the same things are likely to occur again. It may help you with your descicion. But I would like to say, that no matter how they arrive into the world, as long as they arrive safely, and that Mummy is also ok, then that is all that counts x

Our beautiful Eloise has Downs Syndrome

Posted: 10/02/2012 at 10:40
G/C but I must say, your little Lady is beautiful. I can't believe it took them 10 days to discover that she had Downs. That is disgraceful!! I just wanted to let you know, as Im sure you do, that having Downs does not mean them having a life half lived. My Niece has Downs, and there is nothing that fiesty little 4 year old will not get up too. And my husbands Uncle had downs, and live a very forfilled and happy life right up until his late 60's!! You sound like an amazin Mummy and your little cherub is sure to thrive with your continued love and support!
