Is this late for C-Section date?

Posted: 13/10/2012 at 12:35
Hi there, I'm 36+4 and at the moment baby is breech I've been trying everything but she just won't budge. She has been head up the whole time. Anyway, my OB has booked me in for a c-section but its literally 3 days before my due date. With my son I was in early labour a week before at 39 weeks, 2cms dilated and finally went into labour 2 days before due date. I progressed very quickly after my first painful contraction and within the hour I was 6cms dilated. Anyway with this in mind and taking into account second babies usually come quicker I think my c-section date is too late. The thought of giving birth to a breech baby vaginally absolutely terrifies me as I had major complications last time. Does this seem late for an elective c section and do you think I should ask the, to move it forward? Xx

Lots of Braxton hicks? 36 weeks + 2 days!

Hey ladies, same here. I've been getting them since 20 weeks. I had them from the same time with my first pregnancy too. Now that I am 36+5 they are getting much more intense and almost at the point of feeling like an early contraction as they are right down low and achy. I find that I get them when I need the toilet and when I am dehydrated.

From what I remember last time. If you are getting a lot over a long period of time, say a couple of hours and they are getting progressively uncomfortable. Have some water, go to the toilet, have a bath. If the bath doesn't stop them and they are still regular then I would assume contractions and contact the labour ward. I. Pooing my pants as my bubba is breech at the moment and my c-section isn't booked until I'm 39+4 but I'm convinced I will go into labour before then. Am going to ask if they can bring the date forward a bit xx

how are we all doing?

Hospital Bag

Posted: 12/10/2012 at 10:03
I've had both bags half packed for weeks, been so bored and was nesting really badly! For baby I have nappies, sensitive wipes, nappy bags, hats, vests, socks, mitts, baby grow options, fluffy blanket, swaddling blanket, teddy bear, a bottle and carton of formula just incase, nappy cream, baby wash, baby towel, pack of nappies. I think that's all. I'm not sure if ill be having a c-section or not so not sure how long I'll be in there. Also live in Dubai so no need for warm clothes!

In my bag I've got a birthing gown as don't want to wear hospital one, a matching nightie in case of c-section, they need to check stitches, 3 x pjs, 2 x fluffy socks, shower gel and moisturiser travel pack, some make up, lip balm, dry shampoo, nipple cream, nipple shields, night time feeding bras, feeding bras, change of clothes for hubby, flip camera, normal camera, passport, marriage certificate, visa (needed in Dubai) track suit bottoms and top for going home, face cream, breast pads, 3 packs of always night pads as found these were most comfy last time, toothbrushes for hubby and I, toothpaste, witch hazel pads for stitches, a towel, my belly bandit, hair bands, headbands, face wipes and a pack of tissues. Wow, I'm practically moving in lol!

Hey ladies, I actually haven't been on here for such a long time. Hope you are all doing OK. Nimmy am sorry to hear about your granny, mine also passed away in the summer which was very hard but she was 90 and had damentia for quite some time. I hope you are doing OK. I am 36+3 today and baby is breech I've been booked in for a section, but literally days before my due date, which I'm really unhappy about as I went early with William. I'm just hoping she turns before that.

Sian could you please add me to the November FB group xxx

Hey Girlies,

Sorry I haven't posted much, been popping in and out though to keep track! I'm 18 weeks and 2 days. Not really feeling much movement as my placenta is in the front again, was the same with my son.

One exciting bit of news is that I convinced hubby to have a gender scan last week as it was our third wedding anniversary. We are having a little.......

GIRL!!!!!

So exciting but so shocked as always imagined myself with boys! Just can't get my head around there being a girlie in there this time

Apart from that I'm ok, had a cold last week which knocked me for six and this week had some weird stomach thing. Tiredness is much better so starting to exercise again.

Xxx
