Pram/travel systems HELP!

Posted: 25/04/2012 at 21:38

There are a few options with Quinny. The Zapp Xtra is a small fold, does parent facing and will take a car seat.

Personally I prefer something that will take a carry cot (as well as the option of using the car seat) so would either go for a Buzz or Moodd. The Moodd is more expensive but easier to move around and has a more upright seat when parent facing. Both have an automatic unfold too which is a breeze compared to the faff of some systems. Both are 3 or 4 wheelers. They are fairly heavy but you can lift the frame and then the seat which makes it pretty easy. I can manage to lift the whole thing in and out of the car pretty easily. I'm not weightlifter as I have ongoing problems with my wrists so should be feasible for most people.

double pushchair to fit in peugeot 206

hmmm. not totally sure. My friend gets her P+T classic in the boot of her mini with half of the back seat down (1 child in the front, one on the other half of the back seat).
I've got a Quinny Moodd frame in the back of a C1 (like the 106) so there should be a few options, you may just have to go to a patient shop and try some. I suspect the baby jogger city select would be OK,P+T would probably work but you might have to remove a wheel or two.
Side by sides might be more tricky. Someone else may be able to advise with those.

How it works: posting a message

Adding a picture doesn't work. Getting a server error every time I try.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Compilation Error

Say hello!

Hiya.

Finally found time to come on here. Interesting changes, but don't like everything. Main gripe is the wasted space around posts now so pages are longer. If info about when posted and who by etc is going above each post then please put the picture in line with that and take the response boxes across the whole frame. There's enough wasted space on the page without wasting even more with unneccesary blanks.

Do like the colours. As others have said a quick shortcut to favourite forums, or the ability to set up favourite forum lists would be very much appreciated as it does require a lot of navigating which does waste time (which us mum's have very little of).

For anyone deciding about antenatal classes

Posted: 19/03/2012 at 14:07
I didn't do the nct antenatal classes but wish I had ( I was swayed by my mw who went on and on about the nhs ones which were crap). But I did do the nct postnatal course which was just as good, if not more so as we all had babies and were discussing the problems, challenges and feelings over the first few months. Like many others we all became good friends and still regularly meet up.

Finally!

Congratulations. Glad she's finally arrived.

I got a caboo which I love.ds2 has reflux so easiest way to keep him upright for long periods while I do things. He is small too and this one works really well.

baby jogger select anyone???

This was the double I was going to get until I put my near 3 yr old in the front of the 2 seats and tried to get it up a pretend kerb -bit required a lot of strength. Control when pushing also wasn't great so ended up with a p and t verve.

FAO anyone who owns a double pushchair!

Don't think there are any more to add to your list apart from the mamas and papas skate if you can live with its limitations. Pushchair trader have some good lists, reviews and comparison trials.

We have the p+t verve which is great. folds with the 2nd seat on, handle bar comes further back so I don't bang my knees which I do with the others from them. 2nd seat also reclines when in the lower position.

The bjcs looks brilliant but is a mare to get up kerbs with a toddler in the front (my preferred way so toddler can hop out when wanted). I'm talking put my foot on the back axle for leverage and push down well on the handle bar.

Loved the look of the iCandy too but seat was really small for my near on3 yr old. So just not practical.

sleeping?

Posted: 06/03/2012 at 05:25
Sleeping is a bit mixed for us. We've had quite a few nights of 6 hrs from around 11.30pm to 6am but then we get nights like last night where he feeds but then won't sleep, last night he finally fell asleep in my arms in bed at gone 1am, then woke again at 4 soon after I put him in his crib. I did get him back in his crib at 4.20 after a short feed but has left me knackered again as hubby wa up at 6.10 and ds1 around 7. E slept through to 7.30.

When we get good nights with 6 hrs or so it is mixed as to whether he wil sleep in his crib or whether it has to be in bed with us.

I'm grateful that he is pretty good at sleeping, he certainly could be a lot worse.

Next step for us is to somehow get him to switch his early morning sleep of a couple of hrs to the evening and get him always sleeping in his crib rather than in our bed some of the time.
