Just a quick hello from a tired but happy mummy

Hi all, just a quick post to say I am now home with my beautiful baby boy, Harry James, born 7.15am on 25/05/11 weighing 7ib8oz. Will post my rather traumatic birth story as soon as I manage to detatch my hungry wee man from the breast and regain full use of 2 hands (could be a while )

Oooo- by the way, I am not announcing induction on facebook as I dont rly want the pressure of everyone I know bugging me about what is going on so anyone who is friends with me on there can you please not mention it! x

Induction tomorrow

I had an 8am hospital app this morning to mnonitor possible pre-ecclampsia- spent 3 hours being monitored and it owuld appear my sysmptoms have got worse and they suspect early stages of pre-ecclampsia. I was also given an internal and head is still not engaged but cervix is softened.
Consequently I am going in tomorrow monrning at 7.30am to begin induction (I will be 41 weeks exactly). I am a real mix of emotions- shook up because of the pre-ecclampsia, relieved to finally have a plan of action, excited to meet my baby and terrified of what I have in store with regards to induction and labour.
Next time #I post I shoudl be a mummy- will try and keep my bump buddy updatewd so she can do a BA for me! x

40 weeks midwife app

Posted: 21/05/2011 at 17:05
My midwife refuses to sweep on due date because she says it is not effective at that stage. She will only sweep at or beyond 41 weeks (that said my baby is not even engaged so she wont be soing a sweep for me anyway!)
Fingers crossed your appointment goes well x

So who is left??

Having seen midwife yesterday it would appear bubs is not engaged and if he stays that way (which I am pretty sure he will) it is unlikely I will go into labour and my midwife will not do a sweep because I have raised fluid levels and she thinks it is too risky to sweep when head is not engaged because of risk of cord prolapse- looks most likely that I will be induced although currently unlikely before may 31st.

Group hug for all the May Mummies that are still waiting!!

How many of us are still waiting and how many weeks and days are we?

I am now 3 days over due and rly in need of this group hug!

If things carry on this way for me looks like I wont be a may mummy after all- could very well fall into June at this rate!

Wost day of pregnancy! :-(

I have had such an aweful day- I had a home visit from my midwife today (40 weeks 3 days) and it was not a good app- babys head is completely free and she has said that is prob why I have not gone into labour and if it doesnt engage she doesnt think I will. I have spent the past 3 weeks walking miles every day and bouncing all evening on my ball so if he hasnt engaged by now I rly cant see that happening.

On top of that my blood pressure was high so my midwife sent me to hospital for a check. I spent nearly 3 hours at the maternity day care unit and nblood pressure went down a bit so they were quite happy until they got my bloods back Next thik I know a doctors comes to see me to say that the bloods are not quite right and indicate possible pre-ecclampsia (although not severe at this stage). They now want me back monday to re-do bloods.

The annoying thing is, unless bloods are worse they still wont indice before 42 weeks but will just keep checking me.

I am soooo upset, I cant bare the thought of going to 42 weeks but it looks liek I dont have a choice!

SOOOOOO FED UPPPPPPP!!!!!!!
xxxxxx

So who is left??

I have had mine at my parents since we brought it back in January- I won't be bringing mine to the house until after the baby is born- have already instructed my parents to drop it at our house before we come home from the hospital as they only live about 10 mins away.
The main reason for leaving it with them is the old superstition however I also dont think I would have been able to stop myself from playing with it had it been at our house all this time- this way it is still all shiny and new looking and ready for our little man (if he ever decides to make an appearance!)
