Measuring small, should I worry?

Hello Maddysmom I could have written this post myself, last week at my scan I was 27 weeks 4 days pregnant and I was measuring small at 2lbs, that combined with having low levels of fluid have given them some cause for concern. They took a swab to see if I was leaking amniotic fluid and I have another scan next week to check the growth of the baby. Like you I had a small first baby at 6lbs but again noone ever mentioned to me that she was small when I was pregnant. The doctor did say that maybe I just have small babies but it does have me worried and hoping the baby puts on weight by the scan next week. I hope you have the weight gain you are looking for, please let me know how you get on.x

Boy or Girl!?

I am in the same boat Amla and although I have had many scans the baby has never been in the right position so the sonographer would give my husband and I no indication of what it might be. I have another scan in a couple of weeks but wont get my hopes up they will tell me :0(

Caffeine

Oh I started on decaf tea and coffee when I found out I was pregnant, I thought because it was decaf I could drink as much as I like, in saying that I would still only have 3 cups total a day max but I didnt realise we had to limit it too.x

Baby Names

We have a deffinate girls name, as I am convinced it is a girl although not found out yet. And we are still working on a boys name, I will wait for a couple of weeks for next scan to see if they can confirm boy or girl, then make more of an effort to come up with a boys name.x

I was 36 when I fell pregnant first time around 37 when child was born, my dd is now 2 years old and I am expecting our 2nd child in June so just turned 39. I had no problem being an older mum and falling pregnant, also overweight and put more on since birth of daughter. I do have consultant care because of my age and weight but that just means I get more care and more scans throughout my pregnancy so that is a bonus, I also have to take clexine injections to stop blood clots but non of that matters when I will hold my baby. Hello Claire and welcome to the group, I am due 5th june and dont know what we are having yet, not through a lack of trying but little bean has been awkward at last two scans so still non the wiser whether pink or blue. I have one dd how just turned 2 years on Friday past so feeling the tiredness more this time around than before. I hope all your bleeding has subsided now and you can have a stress free rest of pregnancy.x

Travel sickness bands for bad nausea :-(

I agree I found the bands helped for me too, whether or not psychological I dont know but whatever helps is good.x

Scan eventually went well

Awh I know how you feel the same thing happened to me. I wasnt scanned for overly long though but was given another appointment for two weeks time so hope to find out what we are having then. she was happy that the baby was healthy and nothing to worry about without having all the checks done so it was enough to make me relax.x
