Hiya,

I am HP's sister and just thought I would post and say we've had a little pic sent from V and the new baby looks just like her Mummy (P looks like her Daddy!), we're all chuffed to bits and are looking forward to the name announcement!

Love from a very proud Auntie of 2 gorgeous little girls!!

Amazing. That actually bought a tear to my eye! I can so imagine your pride.

Thank you PTB, I cried before!! She has always done things in her own way and in her own time and this is just another thing she has done in A's time!!

Thanks Joo, I can't get the smile off my face!!

xx

She's walking!!!

Hi,

I don't often post on here anymore but thought I would just pop on as I am bursting with pride! My DD is almost 23 months (21 months corrected) and isn't walking. She is under the care of a physio, partly due to her prematurity and partly because she is hypermobile in her hips and ankles (her ankles are very hypermobile, to the point that she is going to need insoles when she walks properly), anyway the physio reviewed her 2 weeks ago and said she's not going to walk any time soon and advised us to go to Clarks and get some proper walking shoes as they will help with her ankles, so we went and got a pair of black patent shoes and some trainers and she has been chuffed to bits with them, especially as they have lights on

So today my sister came round and we sat at opposite ends of our living room and were encouraging her to walk unaided between us which she was doing, we were making a huge deal of it, clapping and cheering!! Anyway since then, she has just decided to walk everywhere ON HER OWN!! We are soooo proud, she has come through so much in her little life and it was just the non-walking which was a reminder of her prematurity (together with her tiny size, she's just gone into 12-18 month clothes!), she is now officially walking and I am the proudest Mummy in the world!!

main xmas present for LO

Posted: 12/11/2010 at 18:50
Our DD will be 2 on 23rd Dec so we have bought her the HappyLand Fairy Castle, the HappyLand Ready to Play set and the HappyLand girlie storage box/play mat. For Christmas we have bought her the Red Retro Kitchen from ELC, some Pots and Pans for it (My Mum is buying her the "fake food" to go with it and MIL has bought her a toy coffee maker/toaster and kettle) and a Peppa Pig Aqua Doodle. We're also goina get her a stocking with some little bits in and then an outfit for Christmas Day and her Birthday!

I love buying for her! xx

Toddler swimming lessons

Hi,

I take my DD to Puddleducks, they are a private franchise and a little bit expensive but in our group there are only 5 other LO's. At her age (almost 22 months) it's not so much learning them to swim as they don't have the co-ordination but more to give them confidence in the water. My DD HATES going underwater so they are working with us to try and conquer that but we have found it invaluable and well worth the money!

worried LO not standing or walking 14 months

Posted: 22/09/2010 at 03:55
My DD will be 21 months tomorrow (19 months corrected) and isn't yet walking, she is also a bum shuffler and can move at the speed of light on her behind!! She is cruising round the furniture and will walk if you hold both of her hands but can move quicker shuffling.

She is under the care of a physio and she has said that she can't walk as her muscles in her legs aren't strong enough as she shuffles in a particular way that only 2% of babies do and she will only walk when her legs are strong enough. I don't mind too much, we have learnt that she will do things only at her pace so other than encouraging her when she wants to walk holding our hands, we just have to wait!

In comparison though her talking is above and beyond her age so it does give truth to the "talker or walker" theory!

how many will u have?

We have had this conversation lately and have decided to stick with our 1 DD, the reasons being medically in that I can't carry a baby full-term and we don't know whether we could go through what we went through with dd again (she was really poorly when she was born), plus I am the main earner and maybe selfishly am coming to a point in my career where I could possibly move up.

Our DD wants for nothing which is a contrast to me when I was younger who, as one of 5 children didn't have much. OH is an only child and as DD has a cousin who is 13 months younger and one who will be 26 months younger it's not as if she won't see any other children her own age.

We may possibly change our minds in a few years but at the moment we are very content with our little family! xx
