Flying In pregnancy

Posted: 02/01/2013 at 22:02
When I was pregnant with my daughter I flew to Canada when I was 21 weeks pregnant, flew back at 24 weeks. I just notified my travel insurer first to make sure I was covered...just in case.

Hey, my hubby and I have a 3 year old daughter and Im back ttc number 2, however we have been trying for 2 years with no luck at all with our daughter, I fell pregnant very quickly so I foolishly thought that conceiving baby number 2 would be just as straight forward. We have both been tested and hubby's sperm has low motility. We don't qualify fr ivf because we already have one child. It's beginning to feel like its not going to happen for us, trying to keep positive but its hard when you want a child so badly.. I though maybe by coming back to the forum I can remind myself that I'm not the only one struggling. Baby dust to all.....

Video Baby Monitors - please help!!

Posted: 02/01/2011 at 18:08
hi, we have the 'lindam clarity' video monitor and i think its pretty good. We bought it for when our litle girl moved into her own room and we still use it every night (shes 19 months now) its just reasuring to be able to see her. It did cost quite a bit but i think it was worth it.

they've added to my forum name!

congratulations to you all!!!!!! i havent been on here for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages, i never seem to get the time, but i am on facebook a lot. we considered ttc number 2 earlier this year....but with one thing and another we decided to wait a little longer, we are going to start ttc after christmas so hopefully ciara will be around 2and a half when number 2 comes along....fingers crossed. hope all of your lilttle ones are super!

Concerned anout long car journey?

Posted: 26/04/2010 at 17:23
ciara is now in a forward facing seat (shes 11months) and had totally outgrown her 'babyseat'. We have made trips to london, scarborough etc (we live nr halifax) and she has been totally fine. in fact she enjoys it a lot more because the passenger can chat to her and she has space for her legs, plus she is in more of a 'sat up' position which is better for her. As long as you have it fitted properly it shouldnt be a problem.

When i was buying ciaras new carseat the salesman at halfords talked me out of buying the ones that would last until shes about 12....claiming that they provide general safety for all ages, whereas the ones that only last unitl they are 4 are designed specifically to secure and provide safety for younger children.-i mean, maybe he just wanted us to spend more money and end up buying 2 seats eventually..but something to bare in mind if your worried.

should she still have formula?

thanks, whats the best way to heat cows milk?? (daft question i know but im not sure of the best way) I never know what to make of these adverts persuading you to by the follow on stuff

bottled water?

Posted: 26/04/2010 at 17:12
i might be wrong, but im sure someone once posted saying that babies shouldnt drink bottled water because of added minerals and things. Im not sure if thats accurate but something to think about. When we went out to chester zoo i bought ciara a bottle of 'baby juice; from tesco (id forgotten her water) anyway ..although im not keen on the idea of her drinking juice..it tastes very weak and she enjoyed it, and it came in a bottle kind of like oasis so it could be re-sealed and stayed cold in the cooler. x

should she still have formula?

Posted: 26/04/2010 at 17:06
Well..my little baby girl is almost one! Up to now i have found lots of advice about 'what to do next' with Ciara and what is 'best' for her age, but now shes almost 1 im not sure about the whole formula situation..help! She has 7oz of sma(red tin) in the morning and the same before bed (and sometimes a smaller bottle at tea time if she hasnt eaten much). Do i move her onto the next kind of sma now? or do i introduce cows milk in bottles for brekki and supper? She has cows milk in food and on cereal. Im just so confused as to what to give her now. She eats fairly well and meals but she is by no means a 'big baby' and she always wants the bottle at breakfast and bedtime.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks guys.
