? dairy intolerance

Posted: 31/10/2009 at 04:33
Hi
I have been having many problems with my little boy (19 months) for ages with his eating and diarrhoea. I have been to many dr's and even a+e. He will eat for a few weeks then stop again, nothing at all, just drinks and gets yellow diarrhoea. After 5 days or so it will settle and he will eat a little again. All poo sepcimens have been clear even though it stinks!

Now been racking my brains and wander if its an intolerance to perhaps dairy? Its all he will have sometimes, milk and yogurts. 2 nights ago his tummy balloned and i panicked but that day he had had so much milk as it was all he would take.

Do any of you have any experience with this? W are going to see a paediatrician next week but i cant have my littleboy not eating for a whole other week!

Thanks.

I love them. My boy is very active and goes off so fast that they are a god send. I started using them when he was about 15 months old but basically once he was walking very confidently.

lol just for fun, what would your porn star name be?

Biting

Posted: 03/04/2009 at 14:24
Ryan is now 1yr old and has been biting for a while now (not other children yet thank god...just us). Sometimes I do think it is to relieve his gums but other times he still does it, I say NO firmly without smiling etc. but he pulls away and giggles! What is your approach? Should I persevere with NO or should I ignore it?

Distraction Feeding?

Posted: 03/04/2009 at 14:20
Yes, I have this problem! Ryan is 1 now but ever since I can remember he has needed distracting to eat. Sometimes a book he can turn the pages through, sometimes toys on his highchair table, an empty box or bottle...anything...the list goes on. But now I try to give him finger food he can nibble on through the meal like sticks of carrot, chopped up fruit to go with dessert, breadsticks etc. I think I can count on one hand the times he has just sat and been fed. Now he often will have a spoon so kind of digs in in between me feeding him. Good luck though - know where you are coming from!

Who do I talk to about all this , what to do, rights etc

Hi, it is all so hard, I know what you mean. I am just starting off with this whole awful process too. I went to citizens advice bureau first and they are quite helpful with basic rights etc. But to advise on personal issues with more detail you really need to see a lawyer. Some offer a free advice consultation. I am going to arrange to see one in the next few weeks. Then the mortgage people to see where we stand with property etc. Tricky business but thats what I am doing if thats any help.

I am officially a single mummy and proud!

Good luck with everything. I am too a single mummy now as of about a month ago and we are doing just fine. A bit concerned re money etc but otherwise no worries. And by the sounds of it you gave it your best shot but you cannot live with a liar. Good for you x

1st baby early or late?

My little boy was 12 days early, waters broke few hours after ten pin bowling...happened to a friend of mine too so top tip if you want labour to start! Baby born 9 hours later.

not enjoying this phase!

My lo has just turned 1 and has started being a monkey at bedtime and in the night! He always went down no problems, in his cot, kiss goodnight, leave the room and he would be asleep in 10mins all by himself. Now he screams as soon as I leave the room and jumps up to the cotside. He then bounces and cries out frantically until I go back. Then he reaches up for a cuddle, then he goes back down, but as soon as I leave he does the same thing and this will continue unless I stay there with him. I do this after 2 or 3 times as he gets so upset. Then if he wakes in the night the same thing happens, although last night he kept this going for an hour! Even though I was there, he just kept getting up to be picked up. Nightmare! I tried a night light but its me he wants there and its tiring now as has been going on forr 10 days. I have been told its a phase but gosh I cant wait til its over...

Milk now? bottles/cup?

Posted: 15/03/2009 at 17:28
Hello
Now our little ones are 1 (or soon to be) I was wandering how much milk you give them? And do you still go on with bottles or should we be moving to cups for their milk? I will definately keep the bottle at bedtime for comfort etc, but was wandering what we should be doing next...
