Early signs of labour

Transition

This is when the cervix dilates fully and you move into the pushing stage. Contractions are now at their peak of intensity, coming two to three minutes apart and lasting up to 90 seconds.

Often women feel highly emotional at this stage and your partner might bear the brunt of your anger. You might also feel sick, shivery and want to strip off as you feel so hot.

Aggression and loss of inhibitions are common among women in this stage of labour.
