I haven't really thought about it to be honest!! Suppose it makes sense to think about it whilst we have money lol - theoretically they could start needing it from about 4months ish couldn't they?

I had seen one that turns in to a little table later on in the mothercare catalogue. Not really thought about it though.

I like that highchair - v bright and funky!

I hadn't actually thought about a highchair yet...i'm so fixated on getting things ready for the early days, I haven't thought much further ahead! Think I need to tell myself that this baby IS actually going to grow up

My friend has that one and she loves it so it must be a good choice. I have the polly magic and a bloom highchair (rubbish). You won't need it till about 4 at the earliest. I used a bumbo with the tray first as the highchair just drowned spencer and the tray came up to his eyes x

We have a Tripp Trapp which we got for our first child, and we'll probably get another one when this baby is ready for it.

There are lots of things to consider when buying a highchair.

Do you have the space for it to live out all the time, does it need to fold?

Do you prefer plastic or wood? For us, it's in our dining room, so we thought it would be nice to have a wooden one which blended with the rest of our furniture.

Do you want it to recline? Personally, for us, we didn't want that feature, as we didn't want to encourage LO to doze off at the table - and he never has.

How easy is it to clean? Are any fabric covers machine washable or just wipeable? Look for nooks and crannies where debris can get stuck.

Do you want a chair with a tray, or prefer LO to sit up at the table? If it has a tray, how easy is it to remove, and wash?

From what age is it suitable? Both my parents (they're divorced) have bought highchairs for their grandchildren, but they're pretty rubbish whilst babies are fairly small. Even at 12mths, our son kept slumping in my dad's chair as it was too big, we had to wedge cushions behind him.

And, of course, cost. Our TT was a gift, but even , we feel it's been money very well spent.

I have the same as due 01 10 10, had it for my dd, for the price is great but if they lean back there can be a lot of space between baby & the tray for mess to fall down . . . but that wouldn't put me off buying it again at that price! she now has a booster chair so she can sit at the head of table in between us. I used to sit dd in it with the tray off with toys/books her her lap while I cooked/cleaned and she was happy so she must have found it comfortable! She nodded off in it a few times, bless her!

A friend has the trip trap & I like the idea of it virtually being another chair at the table but I put dd in it once and she just didn't look as comfy.

I think - with price no issue - it's best to look for one that takes up as little space as possible & could eventually be pushed up so they can sit at the table.
