UPDATE no news - Sweep in an hour - wish me luck

Got a sweep booked in today at 40+1. Hope it works! I had one with my boy, but I was nine days overdue ... it worked, had the sweep on fri and he was born on sunday.

Hopefully it works this time round as well, except I dont have to have contractions for 3 days lol!

Well NOTHING so far, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr seriously! Fed up!!!!! Lol!!!

my little sis had sweep on tues morning and had a big (9lb 7oz) boy at 4 am today

What do they actually DO for a sweep?? I know we aren't talking 'dustpans and brooms' I'm sure its been explained on here loads before but I keep losing the posts!

Wooleze - will do! Gosh big baby! Hugo was 8 pounds 11. This one has been a bi smaller on scans, but who knows!

Tutano didamoon - the midwife checks if she can reach your cervix and if can then inserts fingers and tries to stretch it. This releases hormones that can kickstart labour. It is not painful, but uncomfortable, but nothing too bad.

Ooooh good luck! I'll be offered one next week at 40+4 if baby hasn't voluntarily exited by then. Thanks for the info foxoo, have been wondering exactly what it involved and was going to look into it today.

Have had it done, cervix was reachable and she could stretch it a bit, but she said this could also be due to the fact that I ve already had one baby :P

So far no niggles, but I am SO hoping!

Also had a funny scare lol. Midwife is probing my tummy, and goes a bit wide eyed and like, omg, cant be that she is breech again! I m like 'noooooo' and then I have a braxton hicks and midwife cant tell at all! So she went in to do the internal to distinguish, thank god baby girl is head down, but slightly back to back ... I would have been so pissed if she d swapped around again! Haha!

Now the waiting game!

Nothing so far ladies, bored, frustrated, want the baby ouuuuuuuuuut! Might make myself have some sex later tonight, though so not in the mood hahha!

But yeah, dont think the sweep did anything, no show, or even more discharge, no niggles really, just some BHs ... bah bah bah!
