Hi Girls,

Is anyone having / has anyone had the flu jab. I am really in two minds about it. I've had a vile cold for about 4 weeks now so not even sure they'll let me have it but I'm don't know whether to go for it or not.

The swine flu epidemic was in full swing in my last pregnancy and I didn't get the jab then but feel like my immune system is shot this time round

Hi j-dutch,

After a few weeks of thinking about it, i decided to have the flu jab in the end. I had it about a month ago now, and actually quite glad i did. There are loads of people quite ill and fluey at the moment, so just hoping that i'm able to avoid it.

For me, it boiled down to feeling i'd regret it more if i didn't have the jab and something happened.

Sorry not much help!

I had mine two months ago as soon as it became available and all is fine. Please get it. Pregnant and swine flu is somewhere you really don't want to go - its really starting to affect the hosptial I work in. x

Im defintley getting as soon as I get better - I have had a horrid chest infection for over a week now and luckily baby all ok even if I wasnt

CAnt wait to get it now as the story in the news is Scaring me a little, I just take hope from the fact I am a little futher along than that woman so baby would have a better chance but would rather not risk it with all the colds/flus going round work

I know what you mean about your immune system j-dutch - I have never had anything like this before, let alone have to go on anti biotics. So roll on new year when I can book it in.

i was gonna ask similar question figuring that its quite late on to worry with only few weeks to go...but after stuff in news lately i have booked my flu jab for tomorrow xxx

had mine around 25 weeks ish, hubbys been really ill last two weeks and the kids. But I've been fine!! Normally I am the first one ill lol, so its been nice me not getting it! and I am at "full" health to sort my poorly kiddie winks out too!!

I am gettting mine tomorrow morning! Wasn't going to bother as only got 8 weeks to go but the news has scared me a little & my manager bugged me until I made the appointment!!

I wasnt sure if you had to be offered the jab by your doctors.

I've never had flu only ever colds. The news is freaking me out a bit but i'm quiet unsure about it.

I had mine a couple of months ago, definitely get it, there's not many pregnant ladies in our area that have accepted and there's 2 that are quite ill at the moment. x

I got mine as soon as I could, and made my husband get one done at boots! Only reason being that I figured Feb would be one of the worst times of year for people being in hospital with flu / swine flu, and I really don't want to get it!!
