What do you ladies think of the name Esme?? I really like it but the OH thinks its strange we have already decided on a boys name Lloyd

Which might i add i didint like to start with but i really like Esme i already have a son called Theo so i didnt want a too common name to go with it (even tho Theo is becoming more and more common lol)

I like it. I have a Brownie in my pack called Esme, and I remember when I first heard it I thought it was different, but she's the sweetest 7 year old, and it's a nice different name without being weird.

We nearly called our daughter that! But for family reasons when she finally arrived we called her Kitty! Not even on the final list but we both love it!! I would definately consider it for this bean if it is a 'she' although I know my dad wasn't too keen.

I like Elsie too.

I like it too!! We've had names for ages, Evelyn (Evie) Mae for a girl and Thomas Evan for a boy!!

But i'm reading a book at the moment and one of the characters is called Edye (in my head i pronounce in Ee-d-ie!) and i really like it!! xx

Esme is a lovely name - suits all ages too, whereas some names don't really. Also like Evelyn, but one of our foster kittens was called that, so maybe not.
My OH who's been quiet with things up to now (I think we're just thinking it's too early at the minute to think ahead) suddenly blurted out what do I think of George Gerald (Gerald's his dad's name), when ages ago we were talking about names and he didn't want George as it's one of his cousin's names! We also like Eleanor Francis for a girl too. But there's plenty of time to change our minds!

Keep pushing for Esme - definately!!!

Well we've had names picked out for almost 4 years..... *BLUSH* we will just choose the most appropriate one to suit when babs gets here - Travis Oxley or Jackson Friend for a boy (middle names are granda's) and Cassidy or Maddison for a girly - But we havent chosen middle names for a girly. Our Daughter was going to be called Karris or Olivia, but ended up being called Elivia ( which was a cross between Elizabeth (family name) and David (OH)
Esme is a delightful name as others have said and would suit for life unlike many names. I dont think youre premature at all in thinking about it, i mean at the end of the day its not set in stone till your register baba and it gives yo plently of time to see through the pros and cons of calling your child anything totally out of the question!! x x x
