IM am so sorry girls for butting my nose in but it is so exciting reading your posts.Hubby and i are thinking of ttc in a few months. We have a 1yr old boy and would love to have TWINS next time around! I am getting excited about the possibity of having twins and i really want to make it work. So here's my funny question, should i use fertility drugs when ttc? i feel so silly asking but pardon my naivete please!

taking fertility drugs when they aren't needed can actually affect your fertility and make you less fertile. No doctor would prescribe these drugs either if they aren't needed.

Enny why do you want twins so much? Dont get me wrong I love my twins and would never be without them but it is such hard work having 2, you can never imagine how much until you experience it.

Lots of people have said to me they would love twins but Im not sure they appreciate the difficulties it presents.

I agree with Wilmie. Twins are a blessing but not necessarily one that I'd go to any lengths to try and have.

I have heard that there are factors that can increase the chances of twins (age, hereditary, certain foods) but ultimately, I think a lot of it is down to luck, as with most things when TTC.

Its funny how those with twins all think the same. EVERYONE tells me how much they would love twins and I honestly dont think people realise how difficult it really is, you cant until you have been there. I wouldnt change my boys for the world, but there are so many things I miss about having just ones baby to care for.

I also think that twins are a blessing and taking drugs unnecessarily would be a really bad idea. Sorry if that offends - just my opinion xx

I HAD to take fertility drugs to fall pregnant not to have my twins in general.

Firstly no sane doctor would perscribe them with out a medical reason ie can't concieve- unless u lied.

Secondly plenty of people have been on the same meds and only had one baby.

Thirdly the side effects of these drugs aren't always nice. Clomid for example can cause hyperstimulation of the ovaries and in worst cases can cause them to rupture.

And as the other ladies have said as much as we love our twins and wouldn't be parted from them for anything its hard work and expensive having two newborns at once.

let nature take its course hun, u never know u may be destined for a double blessing.

Thanks guys! i knew it was a CRAZY idea! Thanks for setting me straight. i really do appreciate the work that goes into taking care of two kids at once. Truth is uo till a month ago, i got upset with anyone who wished me twins! i could not honestly fathom going through all that stress twice....i just started to think of the idea of getting pregnant just one more time, having two babies and wrapping it all up and it sounded not so bad. I promise i wont try anything stupid like taking f.drugs, i was just asking. Thanks again everyone. Well done to mums of multiples!

iam glad your not going to do anything daft becouse you dont know what you would be taking if you didnt get the drugs through the doctors and if you did fall pregnant you dont know the affect it could have on your little one, having 3 kiddies is very hard work and very stressfull,i have a little boy who is nearly 3 and twin boy/girl who are 15 months and even though i love them to bits and wouldnt swap it for the world, its so much hard work and iam soooooo tired all the time,i wouldnt wish the feeling on anyone
