When to BD this month...

Ok so after watching the Great Sperm Race last night I am now quite realistic as to the chances of conceiving at all!! Especially after they kept going on about timing is everything, timing is so important etc.

Last month I ovulated on a Saturday. We BD on Thursday night, Friday night and Sat morning. (although I think that on Friday and Sat there wasn't as much sperm available if you know what i mean).

This month I am due to ovulate on a Saturday again. I am thinking maybe it would be better to just do it once on the Friday night or something as it is obviously quality rather than quantity. Any ideas?

I almost wish I hadn't watched that programme now!!

Thank!

I recently read that sperm is fitter and faster in a morning, so maybe go for Saturday morning?

I also read that the average time in the day when you OV is 4pm.

I tried to use this information on Sunday morning, but OH just didn't seem in the mood so I didn't push it. We ended up having a fab Sunday night though!

Good luck with however you decide to play it. It's so difficult trying to work things to maximise chances.

Hi

I didn't see the documentary you mention in your post however. If you're due to OV on the Saturday, I would BD once per day for 3 days before and then once per day for 3 days after.

Good luck and sending you lots of energy!

Grudie, I didn't see the programme and had no idea it took so long for the sperm to get to where it needs to be!

I can't swim for more than 20 mins, so feel sorry for them....

Hi Posy,
Although the programme was a bit weird (!) it did emphasise that there is no point bding every day as there isn't any fresh sperm left. My doctor said this too. They recommend every 2-3 days throughout your cycle and then you can't miss it .... S XX

yeah 14 hours but the programme went on like it took a month or something lol

it also called our inside parts some names lol like mountainous terrain lol

compared us to pigs and there was a guy rubbing the pigs nipples and sitting bouncing on top of it to see if they had orgasms etc was just wrong in so many ways lol

Yes Grudie, it will be day 14 for me.

Its funny that Goldilocks said about most women ovulate around 4pm because last cycle I had very sharp ov pains around 3.30pm lasting for half an hour on the saturday.
I thought I had timed it so well last month!

Posy I kept a record of when I BD this month and this is how it went -

CD 14, 15, 16 - BD
CD 17 - positive ov - didn't BD
CD 18 - positive ov - BD pm
CD 19 - negative ov - BD am

Hope that helps xx
