Hey ladies just a quick one as Im supposed to be packing for Edinburgh! Had to put the laptop on to pay my credit card though, and snuck on here! Haha.

Blood tests results are fiiiiinally back, and all normal no action =/. So, just going to have to go back and see where we go from here.

Sorry ihavehope and betty that AF is here or on her way she really is a witch.

MrsM you are never out until she arrives, so dont give up hope.

Loopy hope you are ok.

Messy welcome to the thread, I cant use my CBFM any more as my cycles are waaaay too messed up for it, but I still come on here and these ladies are lovely and so so supportive.

Baby dust and BFP hugs to everyone. Have a lovely weekend and if I dont get on before I'll be back Sunday evening! xxx

It's not the urge to jump. It's deeper than that...it's the urge to fall.

ihavehope so sorry the witch got you - she got me too the same day!

Broody_Betty how are you doing hun? What's the next stage for you?

Gizmoouk glad you tests came back ok. Enjoy Edinburgh and I hope you get your BFP very soon.

DH had his 3rd SA results back yesterday, they were the same as the other two so they have circled 'Fertility treatment needed' on the form so no more SA's for now. They did write something else in the comments box but I can't understand the stupid writing! Dying to know what it says. I rang the IVF clinic today just to double check that they have receieved our referral letter from the doctor in December (as we ahven't heard anything in over 6 weeks) and she said yes so that was good. I then asked if she could give me an idea of when our first consultation would be and was told June and so now I'm gutted again.

I've spoken with hubby and we want to pay to speak to a consultant asap, I think a 6 month wait is ridiculous just to have feedback on your results. So now don't kow whether to pay the NHS to be seen quicker or the private fertility clinic? I read an article online this week that said if you go to a private fertility clinic then they just do further tests on the female and get you in for IVF so the man never sees a urologist or trys to get to the route of the problem. So now I'm thinking perhaps we should pay the NHS and try and speak to a male fertility specialist first.

What do you think ladies? What would you do in this situation? x

Mrs M don't get too disheartened. You never know- I had a little look and its only a small dip so it's not necessarily bad. Mine was huge yesterday. It went back up today though but I still have the feelings I get in the week before AF. I have a whole week of it BEFORE she even gets here booo!

Gizmoo when are you going back? Good news about your blood results isn't it? Anyway have a lovely time in Edinburgh. We went in July or August (I forget which thats terrible isn't it) and we loved it.

Loopy, I'm glad you got your results back- sorry it wasn't what you necessarily wanted to hear but I guess it means a step closer to solving the problem. I'm sure you could ask them what they wrote- I think you have access to all notes kept about you. We had to wait for 8 months for our follow up appointment- its almost here now (less than a fortnight to go). It does seem ages while you're waiting but we chose to wait. We were told that if we had any part done privately we would still have to wait the same time as someone who had waited and been through all the NHS channels. We thought about having the HSG done privately because there was a 6 month wait for it but they said if we did we still wouldn't get our feedback appointment till February. Apparently they don't allow people to pay to shortcut themselves to the top of the IVF waiting list so they would make sure that we'd still have to wait. I think there are probably various loopholes they use to stop you. Look carefully into it before you get anything done privately because a colleague of mine said that her friend wasn't allowed go back to the NHS after she did. My doctor said that wouldn't happen but it was a different hospital, however he was the second person to say that you couldn't use private care to short-cut to the top of the NHS waiting list so I guess that bits true. However, a friend of mine had treatment privately (no NHS) and they were very thorough with her but not so much with him- but his first SA was very good, so its a bit different. On the one hand I'd say wait because I did and the appointment day almost here now and we can put the money we would have spent towards something else 9hopefully baby related). On the other I feel that if it fails and we have to wait for yet another process we have lost 8 months. I'm 36 this year so time isn't on my side. Let us know what you decide.

Editted after reading your other post. If you are sure you want to go down the private route for IVF I'd go now and get the tests and feedback all done there. At least that way they'd be following you all the way through from the beginning of your journey to the end.

Hope everyone is ok I havent been on here for a while been a bit down lately as AF got me last week n everything is setting me off at the mo!

Welcome messy88 hope u av some luck soon.

Soory to hear about the test results Loopy. If the wait is that long just to discuss ur test results I think I might build up the courage to go the docs soon just incase otherwise its going to take even longer if there is a problem. I have resigned myself to the fact that one of us has a problem now after ttc for over a year and no joy although I hope we havent.

Af arrived for me last week so am back onto the next cycle. I am on CD7 today however the last few days I have had twinges n the odd pains in my lower right and left side like ov pains but with me being so early in my cycle I am starting to wonder and worry what they are. Has anyone else experienced this so early in their cycle?

Hi Broody_BettyBoopBoop we've spoken tonight after a few tears and we've decided to book me in for the AMH blood test at the private fertility clinic and we're going to book a consultation in with them too. Do yo mind me asking how long you've been TTC? I've had a few problems in the past that I'd rather not go into but it makes the whole TTC harder for me to handle emotionally so we're going to start moving things forward.

Hi vickykenny1 the doctor won't do anymore for us now I'm afraid we've asked but now we're on the waiting list at the IVF clinic they have said that it is out of their hands now. So our only option to speed things up would be to pay privately. Have you have any bloods tests or SA's doen yet?

Not yet I am thinking of going for a blood test 1st n then sending my OH to his docs for an SA test as we are in separate docs. My OH doesnt seem the problem tho he jusy thinks it is going to happen he doestn get stressed or worry about anything which is good but makes it harded for me as I sometimes think he is not bothered but he does want kids!

That sounds like the best option for yous at least it will save u waiting longer for some answers x x
26/01/2012 at 17:15
Thanks vickykenny1. I know what you mean about your hubby, mine is the same. I know he wants children but he keeps everything in and never shares how he is feeling (he's always been the same) but sometimes it feels like he doesn't care as much as me. I know its just his way of coping but it does make it hard at times. Hope you get your BFP soon x

Sorry to gate crash your post Loopy I just wanted to say paying the nhs for the hsg and amh test may be cheaper. If they come back good maybe you will be alright with waiting until june to discuss your results as you'd have a guarantee that you are ok. If your results aren't good then you can go ahead with the private clinic and you wont need the tests re doing (at their more expensive rates so save yourself some money) Sorry again for gate crashing.... I do have a cbfm that I don't use though  (maybe I could join your thread?)

thanks wibblewobble1, I have a CBFM that I don't longer use and I'm on here    Just to let you know that I've booked a AMH blood test with a local private clinic (the prices are cheaper than the NHS believe it or not) for Tuesday morning. It's made me feel so much better that something is happening!

I recieved my letter from the NHS IVF clinic yesterday and it is only addressed to me not sure if this means its for both of us or just me? Its also says Gynalocology Fertility depatment on the letter which makes me think its just me. Now I'm wondering if they have even taken my hubby's SA results into consideration as the referral letter was sent at the beginning of december before we had the results of the 3rd SA - its all so confusing! x

http://lbdf.lilypie.com/aIzAp1.png

27/01/2012 at 12:24
Loopy I'd take your hubby with you anyway. We were first seen at gynae outpatients (even tho it was a urologist we were seeing at a womens hospital  ) It was just the first 2 appointments that were carried out in outpatients. He carried out the basic blood tests/karotyping/cystic fibrosis and an ultrasound on hubby and nothing was done on me at the clinic until all hubby's results were back. (I just had to get my gp to run 3 day bloods for fsh/lh which are now not used by my clinic... they go on amh instead now)

Does your letter mention partner at all? All ours have been addressed to hubby, then further through the letter they always say an appointment for you and your partner to attend. But then it could be that they just want details of your fertility before seeing you both... all clinics do things differently. The clinic will have copies of all tests that your Gp has run on you and hubby as your Gp has to send them off with your referral otherwise they wouldn't accept you as a patient (hope that makes sense)

Have you had an appointment date then?

Loopy you have mail

VickyKenny welcome back. I know how you feel. Sometimes I find it easier to stay off for a while to give myself some space. I think I will be doing the same if AF arrives this weekend. Sometimes these baby forums are an absolute godsend and sometimes they are just torture. Nature of the beast hey? but that's why we're all here for each other. are you feeling any brighter?

Hi wibblewobble. Welcome to the thread. I'm another long termer who has abandoned the CBFM.

Not really my OH's cousin had a baby yesterday which is great and I am so happy for them but it set me off yesterday and I was in 1 hell of a mood lol. They had been trying for a couple of months and got lucky. I have just found out that someone I use to work with a while ago is expecting n they werent even trying it was a shcok for htem but a happy one. I just hope we get sum luck soon after 12 months of ttc I am starting to think it wont happen!

Everyone on here is great but I am trying not to think about ttc and hoping it just happens cos I will be a bit more relaxed but its not working lol.

U said u have abandoned ur CBFM, how come? x
29/01/2012 at 16:30
Hi Vicky. I tried to answer you a short while ago but it ate it- fc it works this time.
Sorry to hear you've a had a tough few days. I feel surrounded by babies and bumps at the moment and its tough- so so hard. AF got me last night so I was in a vile mood too

The reason I abandoned my CBFM was because I was finding it made things even more 'planned and structured'. We now only ever get physical to get pregnant and its really getting me down. I see it as a chore now and the nights off from BD are much nicer when we just cuddle up and talk/ laugh/ watch a film. It shouldn't be like this so soon into our marriage. I love my DH to bits and hate hating BD.

Anyway it was a bit silly really because I still know when my 'peak' days are roughly so I still 'time' it.

I do chart now as I have read somewhere that BBT is the only way to confirm you actually released an egg. Now how true this is I cannot be sure. I had one blip with the CBFM as it gave me my peak days before my temps showed ovulation and ended up missing it. I've since learned you get a peak then you ov and get your temp rise.

I totally understand where you are because we're really at the same stage (ttc 16 months/ cycle 17). I am hoping I get clomid next week. Fingers, arms and legs all crossed

Hey ladies

I have been reading through just not had time to post. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and that I hope everyone is well.

Hi wibble, welcome to the thread

Loopy good luck with your tests hun

Vicky its tough when everyone around you seems to be pg/have new babies. Big hugs hun, I hope it happens for you soon.

Betty sorry af got you lovely, big hugs. I have to say we went through a stage where BDing felt quite planned and only for one thing but we seem to have moved past it thankfully.

Nothing new from me, waiting for af. Was massively irritable this morning and I can't decide whether its a sign shes on her way or because I am full of cold and overtired. Maybe I'm just wishful thinking

Hi vickykenny1 I hope you get your BFP soon. I know how you feel I've resigned myself to the fact that we're not going to conceive naturally so now I'm moved on to stressing that IVF won't work - its a vicious circle. I've abandoned my CBFM too but that's only because DH has low morphology so I don't think its was going to help us and having to bd on demand used to stress my hubby out. So after using it for so long I roughly know when ov is and we just bd every other day instead now.

Broody_BettyBoopBoop how are you feeling?

MrsM87 ohh have you tested yet? Keeping my FC for you.

Well I had my AMH blood test done on Wed and so waiting for the results now which should take 7-10 days. I'm keeping everything crossed that they are in the normal range and are not going to be low. We've also booked in our 1st consultation date for the 15th February so really looking forward to that and being able to speak to someone who will hopefully be able to put my mind at ease.
Hope you all have a great weekend x

Thanks everyone starting to try to feel positive dont know if it will work! Went to see the new addition to my OH's family this week n she is gorg but has a bit of a winge when I got home wishing it was us. Positive thinking might = a positive result haha lets hope so anyway.

I am starting to wonder whether my CBFM is working properly for me Broody_BettyBoopBoop as I have had a few months where I havent had a peak but am notsure whether its the monitor or my body! I have never tempted before but I am considering starting next month cos I also think it will look better if I decide to go docs at least I have covered everything then. I am going to have to look into tempting tho cos I havent a clue. I know what you mean about bd'ing lately I cant be bothered bd'ing unless its around ov and there is a chance I could ge pregnant it feels like a chors sometimes.

Any sign of AF MrsM87?

FC everything is ok with your blood test results Loopy. Ur right it is a vicious circle I never thought ttc would be so hard or stressful and upsetting!
