ok ladies
following on from hopefulmummy's thread - i thought i would start one for those of us who are Thinking Of Trying To Conceive

I am sat here, having just taken my first Pregnacare tablet, eating dark chocolate and reading Myleene Klass' book "My Bump & Me" (probably not helping with the desperation to start TTC! )

so when is everyone going to be starting to try?
I think most people seem to be in the Sept. club (like me)

I'm hoping our 1 yr anniversary will be the start of our little family

Yay, Hi girls.
Cant keep me away! Even though I'm also watching TV and trying to order groceries from Tesco online at the same time. Might just pack it in & go tomorrow! My cupboards are almost bare.
Great idea to start a pre TTC thread, there are a few of us hanging around. I'm planning on properly starting TTC on wedding night. That's if I havent had too much champagne!
Mrs Raf, whats in a pregnacare? assume its the usual folic acid, what else do we TOTTC-ers need?? I quite fancy that book too!
S xx

pregnacare is one of the vitamin tablets for women from pre-conception into pregnancy - they include folic acid and B vitamins etc
apparantly you should try to start taking them at least 3 months before you start trying so that you have supplies of folic acid etc for the first couple of weeks of pregnancy

it was a toss-up between Pregnacare and Sanatagen ProNatal - but the former was about ??4 cheaper so won my vote. But next time I'll try the Sanatogen ones coz the ones I bought are huge (horse-pill size!)
http://www.vitabiotics.com/pregnacare/

taking vitamins seems to be one of the few really productive things i can put my energy into pre-TTC

the Mylene Klass book is nice coz it's a very honest account of her experiences. i also bought a book on conception and fertility but have to hide ev. thing from hubby so he doesn't think that my wedding-obsession from last year has now become baby-obsession (even though it has hehe)

anyway i really must get off this site for the day and start winding down for bed - night all x

Hi ladies, i'm with you! September too by the looks of things, which will be our 2nd wedding anniversary (where does the time go?!).

Hubby and i are both desperate to have a baby, and if i'm being honest the only thing stopping us from going for it is my job - i work on a major PFI project thats due for completion in June 2010 and as much as i want to see it through, i also dont want to let the rest of the team down (though i do intend to be very pregnant by the end - pma!!).

I came off the pill in Feb to get by body back to normal and have been using condoms - which we both hate - but we're finding it really hard not to get carried away!! Especially when we both want it so much!!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings!! I've found this site really helpful and have learned so much - plus the ladies are all lovely too!! Good luck to you all!! x

HI all, I am also a 'lurker' on the site. I am getting married in september so we are gonna start tcc after the wedding. So I guess I'm in the September club too.

I'm not yet off the pill, I am not coming off it until after wedding. I can't wait to bin the packet in a very overdramatic fashion.

I hope you all get your BFP's when planned xx

Great thread!
We should be starting ttc in July. We've got a holiday coming up and a wedding mid July and hubby is desperate to go to Alton towers, so we're getting all of that out of the way first! Last time we went to Alton Towers I was 3 weeks pregnant and couldn't go on any rides, so I want a rollercoaster fest before I'm pregnant again.
Going to start taking my vitamins soon, and have already been eating a good diet and don't drink, so hopefully that'll help. We fell within 6 weeks of me coming off the pill last time so hoping we'll be so lucky 2nd time around!
Just wish we could start trying now in case it takes a while after being on the mini pill for so long, but used that excuse on hubby last time and ended up preggers a lot sooner than expected, so he's not buying it this time around!

MrsC06, I'm desperate to come off the pill just now too, incase it takes me ages to concieve after being on the pill for years. It doesn't help I have been reading internet scare stories. But like you, my hubby doesn't want me to incase I fall pregnant before wedding. I'm so impatient lol. I don't know how my 4 year old daughter will react to having a brother or sister though, she's that used to it just being her. Anyone else got other children??

I've got my little boy who's 15 months now. We don't want too big an age gap between them, and I don't particularly like being pregnant so I'm keen to get it over with and get my body back to myself!
There's the attitude!
16/04/2009 at 04:45
Its taken me 4, nearly 5 years to come round to the thought of being pregnant again. I am going to relax and enjoy it this time though (I hope). I just hate the thought that it could take years to fall pg. Damn my impatience!

I know what you mean MrsC06, I too want to do the baby thing within the next couple of years to get it out the way and reclaim my body. I wish I could be one of these women who love being pg. It is worth it in the end though

you can add me too! been off the pill for 8 months now, and we're trying to be careful until at least next July/August!
thinking of starting pregnacare tablets in May/ June in preparation but just lurking here, getting some info now really! also working out and monitoring my cycles, so that when we do TTc i will hopefully have a good idea of where i am every month. nothing too serions though!

16/04/2009 at 05:46
hey hun, yeah i was taking it but never really had any problems that i remember - although i didnt even have an af for the last 6 months i was taking it!! everyone is different to be honest so i wouldn't worry too much x
16/04/2009 at 05:51
On the odd occasion I get break through bleeding before I have finished the pill packet for the 7 day break aswell. Like you say everyone is different.

This site has me obsessed!!
16/04/2009 at 05:52
I'm so annoyed just wrote a really long post and it vanished!!!

I think I'm officially obsessed I've started charting dates is anyone else doing this? I've got 141 days til my wedding on 4th September (when's everybody elses??)

For those of you still on the pill dont worry my SIL2b has just had a baby and my best friend is due 2 weeks before my wedding (ahhhhhhhhhhh) and both fell straight away- SIL2b is 37 and had been on the pill for 20 years!!!

My wedding obsessession will become baby obsession lol

The girls on here have been invaluable for information - Thank you to you all if your reading.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you all
